It's your upper intake manifold gasket. it has a crack in it and needs to be replaced. your getting to much air and not enough gas. mine did the same thing.

SOURCE: My 1998 ford mustang v6 3.8l .. is hard to start

So what you saying is it's hard to start cold right? Something in computer system not allowing excess fuel to injectors when cold. Probably sensor Get auto electrician to sort it out otherwise you end up replacing things that there is nothing wrong with They got the right gear

Two generations though, but you might be lucky if your 1998 is part of the 2nd Gen release. do you have a driver's side sliding door?
Second generation (1999-2003) Released in the summer of 1998 as an early 1999 model, the Ford Windstar was given a complete redesign. As one of the first Ford vehicles in North America to adopt the New Edge styling language, the redesign also was distinguished by the addition of a driver's side sliding door.

I have an 01 Mustang v6 automatic with about 125k mileage. About 3 days ago I started experiencing a very hard chugging even though I have a full tank of gas and engine oil and coolant have just been...

Fuel or spark issues can cause this . Transmission lockup clutch can make a chugging sensation . When in overdrive lightly touch the brake while keeping a steady throttle and see if the chugging stops . Post back .

this happened to us when we got a new key and had it programmed with the car. anytime we locked the doors and opened them with the key instead of the remote, the alarm would set itself off. we took out the fuse for the alarm.
