Code P0170 in Zafira 1.8 2002

Hi. Can anybody advise me as to how do I go about fixing this code problem in my Zafira 1.8. It starts OK but at the start hasn't got any power even if you put your foot down on the gas pedal. Once it warms up, you can drive for a bit, then it seems to lose power and does not want to move once you have stopped. I notice the tempeerature gauge drops down. Once the temp. starts rising, I am able to drive away.

Someone mentioned that I should change temp. sensor. Where about is it in Zafira 1.8.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

SOURCE: truck won't start and died while driving

Likely the O2 sensor is seeing an overly rich fuel mixture and since it's beyond its range it is throwing a code. I don't remember ever seeing an O2 sensor shut off the engine. I'd look over the fuel pressure regulator temp sender and throttle position sensor. Possible one of those is sending mis-information and causing rich condition. There are other items that can do this as well but only go there if you strike out with what I suggested.

Are you sure it is a trans code. Everything that I have found states that P0170 is a fuel trim problem?P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)

The code P0170 means that the air-fuel mixture coming in to the engine is too lean, or too rich. Usually it's the lean condition that causes this code. The code P0173 means the same, only for the Bank 2. Some car manufacturers list the description for the code P0170 as self adaptation out of limits.
The code P0170 could be caused by a number of reasons, such as vacuum leaks, bad PCV valve, or other parts of crankcase ventilation system, low fuel pressure, bad oxygen sensor, bad MAF sensor or even a bad EGR vlave.
