I'm having the same issue. I have changed the bulbs and fuses. I can't find a relay but I don't think that is the issue. Some other people have suggest the Dimmer Control Switch. I am working on that. Please let me know what you find out.
Check the lowbeam fuse
I am having the same problem with the same model 2006 grand prix. I checked the fuses 3&4 in fuse block in engine, checked relay in same block, checked power to lights I have power there however I do not have power on one side of the fuse so I believe the problem is in the B.C.M./ bottom control module which I think allows power to from the control to the fuse to allow the lights to turn on as apposed to daytime running lights. however my problem is how to get to the B.C.M.?
I am haveing the same problem 06 grand prix headlights go out while drining down the road and they won't come back on even useing the switch to turn them on manuly I have just replaced the low beam headlight relay 40.00 at napa. SOURCE: the low beams of my
mdsarnes, The first thing that I would check is the fuse for the low beams located in the engine compartment power distribution box. (Fuse box) GM does have a legend written right on the cover so you know which fuse to check. Also, when the low beams are on try and wiggle the connectors to each bulb. If these dont work, replace one bulb and see if it works. If it does then take the same bulb and try it on the other side. If you have a test light then you can test for power at the plugs before you purchase any bulbs. Good luck with this.
The Grand Prix uses separate bulbs for low beams and high beams. The low beams are located on the outer edge of the headlight assemblies while the high beams are located on the inner edge of the assemblies. With this in mind, locate the position of the burned out bulb prior to replacing it.
