Hi, the turn signal flasher is (or was when it was a Chevette, not a Mercedes!) located on the driver side under the dash, near the fuse panel, taped to the dash wiring harness. Hope this helps.

Signal lamps do not light or blink when lever engaged. 4-way flashers do work.

It could be that one of the flasher module for the turn signals is bad. There should be 2 flasher modules: one for turn signals, and one for four way flashers. Check you vehicles manual for a location on the flasher modules, or Google a query like "Location of turn signal flasher module on a *Year Make Model*". After you locate them, it should be as simple as going to an auto parts store and asking them for a replacement module. If that doesn't work, I could be the switch in the dashboard, or a more complex wiring problem. Make sure you check all of your fuses too. I would say that if you cant fix it by replacing the flasher module, you should take it to a mechanic because it is very easy to destroy wiring in your car.

Where is the turn signal flasher?

There are 2 flashers. I read many different tips, but finally found my turn signal flasher right on top of the ash tray assembly. Take out ashtray. Remove 4 small hex head screws to remove the assembly that the ashtray slides in to. I found the turn signal flasher in a clip on the top side of that assembly
