The CD changer option is similar to the single-disc player. The CD changer has the ability to toggle between the stereo and the multi-disc changer. In the 2007 Ford Taurus, the CD changer is located either in the vehicle's trunk or in the center console and has a magazine that can hold up to six CDs.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Launch CResetter Oil Lamp Reset Tool
that cd button is for an external changer that you must install yourself. once you install the the changer then all you have to do is press that button and through the circuit you can get your cd music.in order to install the changer you have to purchase a link cable to the the vehicle from the changer. you will not have to cut or splic any wires at all get the connector cable and the changer and once installed your all set. the plug in for the changer is in the trunk of the vehicle. now you will not have access to insert the cds while driving because that is not how the system works in a conventional sense like a cd stereo does
images from a 97 Ford Taurus, GL body type. Shows location of flasher and a simple removal tecnique I discovered. The alternative was insane contortion.
check for something maybe jammed in the system and also try a cleaner disc to see if this helps the eye to read the disc and is this an after market changer or a standard accessory on the car when bought and if it is an aftermarket check to make sure it is hooked up correctly
check the fuse 1st, but chances are the changer is defective and will have to sent out, these changers are really prone to this problem. Even if the fuse is blown what made it blow? most likely a short in the changer.
