The camshaft sensor is located right above the crankshaft pulley on the passengers side of the front cover of the engine. It will be a 3 pin sensor either gray or black in color. There is a pointer that is attached to the sensor and it is either gold or silver in color. There is also a recall out on this camshaft sensor. If the color of the sensor is black then it should qualify for the recall. If you get in touch with a Ford dealer they should be able to help you with your recall if the sensor is black since it is a safety recall. As far as your exhaust pressure sensor it is located on the front of the engine right by the heater core hose a little to the passengers side of the center of the front of the engine. there will be a tube attached to the bottom of the sensor that goes from it to the front of the exhaust manifold on the very front of the passengers side exhaust manifold.

SOURCE: replacing bad camshaft position sensor

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, then the serpentine belt and water pump pulley.
  3. Disconnect sensor wiring connector and remove sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Twist and pull sensor to remove.
Reverse procedure to install and prior to installing new sensor, lubricate sensor O-ring.

It is located under the water pump. Make sure when you remove the sensor that you rotate the crank shaft and look in the hole to make sure the pick up magnet is still in there. Sometimes they come loose and cause a no start or long crank. You will need to have the code cleared still.

SOURCE: p0014 engine code

THE CAM SHAFT ACTUATOR IS LOCATED IN THE CYLINDER HEAD ON THE FRONT RIGHT HAND SIDE JUST ABOVE THE POWER STEERING PUMP. AFTER YOU REMOVE THE ACTUATOR CHECK TO SEE IF ANY OF THE SCREENS ARE DAMAGED OR MISSING. IF SO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR. ALSO CHECK THE CRANKSHAFT END PLAY. IT SHOULD BE BETWEEN 0.0044" - 0.0153". if excessive crankshaft end play is causing this concern, it will be obviously out of specification by as much as.050" or more when a pry bar is used to move the crankshaft back and forth. IF THIS IS THE CASE AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS RECOMMENDED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DEBRIS IN THE ENGINE. IF NO EXCESSIVE CRANKSHAFT MOVEMENT NOTICED REPLACE THE CAM ACTUATOR. IT WILL ALSO BE NECESSARY TO DO AN OIL CHANGE.

Suggestions:
1. Change the 02 sensor.
2. Double check with a e-test if the cat requires changing... that will likely depend on milage.
3. Check the plugs to see if you are burning rich...
4. Go to a scrap yard for the parts.. and replace them one at a time..
Note: Reset all condition codes after each part change.
Hope it helps

Im getting codes P0011 and P0014 on my 2011 kia serento. Is mean my camshaft sensor is bad? if so where is it?

These codes have to do with the CVVT(continuously variable valve timing)solenoid. I guess it is a 2.4 liter engine, the solenoid is located right above the power steering pump at the #1 cylinder in the cylinder head. If it is the 3.5 liter it is located on top of each cylinder and is accessed after the intake plenum is removed. Either way, the solenoid controls valve timing of the exhaust cam via the solenoid which uses oil pressure to advance or retard the timing. The first step is to verify proper weight of oil and level. If the engine is over due for service, get it done. If the oil is not an issue, then the solenoid is becoming sluggish in advancing or retarding the camshaft and should be replaced.

Code p0014 exhaust and code p0015 exhaust

The code P0014 is for Camshaft Positon Sensor Actuator Bank 1. The possible causes are incorrect camshaft timing, wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve solenoid system; continuous oil flows to VCT piston chamber or failed timing valve control solenoid(stuck open).
The code P0015 is for Camshaft Position -Timing Over-******** (Bank 1). Your problem will probably be that the timing will be slightly out, due to wear (stretch) of the timing chain; this will all be linked to the overall cold start issue and the timing position. Get that timing checked, or push for the full fix for the cold start timing issue.

Check engine light code p0014 exhaust and p0015 exhaust

P0015: Camshaft Position, Act B - bank 1, timing over

P0014: Camshaft Position, Act B - bank 1, timing over advanced
Check oil level and quality.
Remove n clean exhaust camshaft vanost actuator.
Do not refit to exhaust cam, but swap with inlet actuator.
clear codes...if eml on again see if fault moved to inlet cam. If so replace the actuator.

Obd code p0014 on isuzu ascender 2006

Its a cam over-retarded code.

I believe this is a rebranded chevy trailblazer. I would start with an exhaust cam actuator which is located right next to the power steering pump. 90% of the time this will fix the problem. If it does not than it is possible there is an issue with the timing chain or a PCM issue.

I have an 2006 Pontiac G6 with 4cyl and automatic. I got a p0014 camshaft position actuator B-bank 1, timing over advance. could it be the sensor or do you think the timing belt needs to be replaced?...

hi, this is due to oil pressure send to the exhaust camshaft position sensor,, before u change this sensor or checking engine timing,, change the positon of sensor a to sensor b and check the dtc if it is still p0014, if other dtc will send to ecmit means that the sensor is the problem, if P0014 still the code, you may now check bank 1 timing
