I replaced starter on 1989 f150 5.0 now have no spark

Mike, Check for diagnostic codes. Check fuses/relays,wires/plugs for pinched, damage or corrosion. Could be a lot of things like distributor armature, cap, rotor, stator, ICM, coil, spark plugs, wires, make sure ground is good to distributor. Use the attached forum links, instruction, guides to help diagnose ignition spark problems, Good luck

62 ford fairlane 500 ..221 V-8 been sitting for 25 years. Clutch won't disengage. Any easy way to free up, short of pulling tranny?

Tom, If equipped with a inspection shield or maybe with starter removed through hole, remove shield and try prying between pressure plate and disc. On some old tractors they would pull the spark plugs and tow the tractor around in 3rd gear until clutch released.
HOW TO FREE UP A STUCK CLUTCH
Plan A: If you are car is pointed so you can lurch forward without hitting some object.
Step 1. Start engine in neutral and let it warm up thoroughly.
Step 2. Shut the car off and restart it with the car in first gear and your foot on the clutch pedal.
Step 3. Keep clutch depressed with left foot and blip the accelerator with right foot.
Step 4. Repeat as often as necessary to free up the clutch and then go for a drive. Let the clutch slip, so you can burn off the stuff on your clutch disc.

Plan B: If your car is in the garage, pointing at a brick wall.
Step 1. Secure the car, so it can't roll forward and hit that wall. Jack up the rear of the car (use the differential "pumpkin" as the jacking point). Support the car so that the rear wheels are up in the air and can spin freely.
Step 2. Start engine in neutral and let it warm up thoroughly.
Step 3. Shut off the engine, put transmission in either 3rd or 4th gear.
Step 4. Start the car again with your foot depressing the clutch pedal
Step 5. Rev the engine and hit the brakes.
Step 6. Repeat as often as necessary to free up the clutch and then go for a drive. Let the clutch slip, so you can burn off the stuff on your clutch disc.
Plan C: if all fails...get credit card, order new clutch, (preferably from us) start pulling out the interior and remove the transmission. If you have a BJ8, you should replace the pressure plate as well as the disc. In any case, spend the extra $5 for a spigot bush while you are doing the clutch job.
To prevent this from happening in the future, take your Healey for an outing ever so often. It is good for the car to stretch its legs from time to time. You can also try the trick of putting a stick on the clutch pedal so it is constantly depressed, but it is not a 100% surefire method.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

2001 f150 4,6l motor replaced right side timeing chain car bearllyruns could this be caused by putting the crank shaft sensor in backwords

the camshaft keys should be positioned downwards at 90 degrees to the head surface(Gasket surface) This will place the timing marks on the sprocket in the 1o'clock position upwards. The black link on the chain will be aligned with the 2 dots on the sprocket. This applies to both heads. the crankshaft sprocket will be facing down and the black link will be on the single dot. The crankshaft keyway will be located at approx. the 11 o'clock position.

If this sounds a bit daunting then get a workshop manual as it explains the process well. The book says not to turn the camshafts /crankshaft with the chains removed and I suspect that if this is not adhered to then bent valves will result.

How to replase the timimg chain of a Ford F150 Engine 5.4

The 5.4L engine uses two timing chains. Since the replacement procedure is long, I would go to Auto Zone on-line and register (free) and once you have entered the truck information, you can navigate to the "repair info" section. from there look at the list and click on "engine mechanical". then look on the left side of the page for "timing chain cover, chains and sprockets". there will be detailed instructions with diagrams explaining the entire process.
