My 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX will only move in
well unfortantly thereisnt any description as to what it does do when you put it in any of your forward gear does it try to go does it make any noises was it slipping prior to did you just turn it off one day it was going great prior to that and just no signs of anything just did it fords have very weak planatary gears in there transmissions if you **** it from park to drive thinking maybe it was going to stall so you quickly step on the gas pedal it can cause the planatary gear which is rite the pump to implode which in that case it needs to be rebuilt or replaced but however anytime you have a situation were you loose one or more gears you can go ahead and line it up for a transmission bill at a tranny rebuild shop

What is code p1443 on 96 thunderbird
PCV valve would have nothing to do with it !
P1443 - Very Small Or No Purge Flow Condition
A fuel tank pressure change greater than a minus (-) 7 inches of H 2 O in 30 seconds has occurred with purge (fuel vapor) flow less than 0.02 pounds per minute.
- Blocked fuel vapor hose between EVAP canister purge valve and FTP sensor.
- Blocked fuel vapor hose between EVAP canister purge valve and engine intake manifold.
- Blocked vacuum hose between EVAP canister purge valve-solenoid and engine intake manifold.
- EVAP canister purge valve stuck closed (mechanically).
Check for blockages between the fuel tank, EVAP canister purge valve and engine intake manifold. Check obstructions in the EVAP canister purge valve diaphragm and ports.
Suggest you buy a repair manual if you want to try an fix yourself .Or Go to ford web site
Ford Oem1stop com an pay 29 bucks for 72 hours for repair info . Or take it to a qualified repair shop an have it smoke tested . Or goolge purge valve for a pic. an see if you can find it under the hood .

1997 Ford Tbird 26100 miles,start
It's the idle air control valve but first take fuel injector/carb cleaner spray and spray around the throttle body if idle increases more there's a bad gasket leaking air in the idle air control usually go's and there's no idle but let's see check your vacuum lines also for leaks put a piece of hose in your ear and trace the lines if there's a leak you will hear it hiss when the hose passes over it an old trick of mine I was taught 45 years ago it's just like a stethoscope

How do I change the headlight bulb in my 1997
Access the headlight bulb from under the hood. There should be a clip (screw on or snap) holding the bulb in place. Carefully unplug the socket from bulb and remove clip and slide bulb out. Installation is reverse of removal. Be careful NOT to touch the glass surface of the new bulb, as the oils from skin can cause it to shatter when heated.

I need to get the radiator fan motor off the shroud
hello, you say the motor is hinged to the removed shroud ? I haven't seen one in a while but look at the objects. Do they have a little "crater " in the middle on one side? If it does , it is a rivet.
Take a drill with a thin bit and drill it out from that concave or crater side.
you will need to replace the rivets with new nuts and bolts. make sure you use a lock washer on the nut side with flat washers to hold the bolt tight. otherwise the vibration from the fan will loosen them quickly after replaced.

I have a 1997 Ford Thunderbird. Upon turning the
I would hate to tell to replace any parts without doing some testing , The cooling fan is controlled the PCM - engine computer through the CCRM - constant control relay module . The only thing i can would suggest is you have it hooked up to factory scan tool to check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes an have scan data looked at . Different sensor inputs to the PCM , ECT - engine coolant temp sensor, IAT - intake air temp etc.... If there are no codes ,check power an ground circuits of the PCM . If the cooling fan stayed on all the time i would say the CCRM was bad , still could be , but with out testing this is just a guess . Do you know how to do automotive electrical testing using a test light , volt meter ? How to read an use a wiring diagram ? You can find free wiring diagrams here
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info . year , make , model an engine ! Then under system click on engine , then under subsystem click on cooling fans . Good luck !
