SOURCE: CTS check engine light code P0451

Hi. the fuel pressure sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly. You will have to remove the fuel pump to replace this. I would go ahead and replace the fuel pump while you are there. You will have to Pull the strainer off the fuel pump and discard it. remove the retaining clip for the fuel pressure regulator so that you can remove the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the electrical connections for the fuel pumps and the fuel level sensor. Remove the retaining clip for the fuel level sensor and remove the fuel level sensor by squeezing the locking tangs. the sensor is incorporated in this area.

Please rate and god bless.

the fuel tank pressure sensor may be the problem. but first check that gas cap is tight and the seal is good on cap. auto parts store will tell you the location of the sensor,or call dealer to find out.

Where is the fuel tank pressure sensor located (2010 ford escape 2.5L?) Code P0451

The fuel tank pressure sensor in a 2010 Ford Escape is part of the vehicle's fuel pump assembly. You will find it either inside the tank or mounted to the top of the tank. The P0451 code indicates that the EVAP system pressure sensor is malfunctioning in some way. This code is usually caused by either a bad EVAP pressure sensor, a clogged fuel tank relief valve, EVAP lines, EVAP wiring, or a bad fuel cap. If you have other EVAP related trouble codes, it is recommended to focus on them first and see if it helps remedy this one.

basically the HO2S sensor is not stable and altering the air/fuel mixture settings for the ECM and this is not being helped by a faulty EVAP purge valve and pressure sensor.

Trouble codes for saturn ls2 car is showing the following trouble codes. po300, po306, po451 p2bo3 and c112b

P0300 Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

P0451 EVAP Pressure Sensor Range/Performance

I have no idea what those last two are. Typo, maybe?

Your first two codes could be caused by old spark plugs and/or leaking plug wires.

Your EVAP code could be a bad fuel tank pressure sensor or a malfunctioning EVAP system. With that code, if you remove your fuel cap and get a whoosing sound, then it is an issue with your EVAP system not properly venting the tank. If you don't get that sound, then the tank pressure sensor is bad.
