I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 V6 3.0L King cab. Aside from fuses, what could cause the doors to stop locking/unlocking?

The electronic door lock control system consists of the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module, and two three-button transmitters. The RAP module controls the door locks through the use of external relays located in the relay box, on the LH side of the lower instrument panel. The RAP module also controls the anti-theft system.
Keyless entry remote transmitters are programmable. All transmitters for the vehicle must be set at the same time. When troubleshooting the system, both transmitters are needed to perform the pinpoint tests.
To unlock the driver door and disarm the anti-theft system, press the unlock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter one time. To unlock both doors, press the unlock button a second time within five seconds.
To lock all doors and arm the anti-theft system, press the lock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter one time. To confirm that the doors have locked and the anti-theft system has armed, press the lock button a second time within five seconds. The horn will chirp once to notify that all doors are closed and locked and the alarm is armed. The horn will chirp twice if any door is still ajar.
NOTE: The remote entry features will not function when the key is in the RUN or ACC position.
To activate the panic alarm, press the red panic button on either transmitter. The horn will sound and the parking lamps will flash for a maximum of three minutes.
To deactivate the panic alarm, press the red panic button again or turn the ignition to the ON position.

Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic door lock control system.
  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage:

    Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
    • Binding latches
    • Fuse(s)
    • Relays
    • Wiring harness
    • Loose or corroded connections

    • Remote entry transmitter
    • Door open warning lamp switch
  1. If the concern remains after the inspection connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
    • check that the program card is properly installed.
    • check the connections to the vehicle.
    • check the ignition switch position.
  1. If the scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual.
  1. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with:
    • CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70=ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Section 418-00 .
    • NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for RAP, go to Pinpoint Test A.
    • SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for the RAP module.
  1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the RAP Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
  1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart.

2002 Cadillac escalade driver side windows don't work but passenger windows do work. The drive side ones quit all of the sudden and also my radio doesn't turn off what is my problem? And how do I fix it?

Right side of the vehicle has a different power supply then left side . Two relay's . RAP #1 & RAP #2 . The RAP #1 relay supply's power to the radio an driver side power windows . I think maybe you have two different problems . The radio not turning off, maybe caused by the RAP relay having stuck contacts . Driver side windows not working , could have broken wire inside the flex boot from the body to the driver door .
Rap relay #1 is located in the left instrument panel fuse box .
Fuse Block -Left I/P
On the lower left side of the I/P
The RAP #1 relay is turned on by the BCM - body control module . Could have a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored .
Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuit's use a wiring diagram an a DMM - digital multi-meter ? Pull the driver door panel off an check power an ground circuit's for the driver window switch . Free wiring diagrams here
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , Make , Model an engine . Under system click on body & accessories , then under subsystem click on power windows . Click the search button then the blue link .

2002 buick lesabre limited Radio stays on even with key off and door open

Could have a problem with (RAP) Retained Accessory Power.
Relay Control of Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
Retained accessory power (RAP) is a vehicle power mode that permits the operation of selected customer convenience items after the ignition switch is turned OFF. These selected items will remain in operation until a passenger compartment door is opened or until the RAP function timer reaches its shut-off limit.
When the RIM module is in the RAP function as described above, it closes the RAP relay. This provides power during the RAP period for the components supplied by the RAP relay.
The RIM module opens the RAP relay to end the RAP function when it ends the RAP function as outlined in the previous text.
© 2017 General Motors Corporation. All rights reserved.

The modules listed below all receive a RAP message from the dash integration module (DIM) module over the serial data circuits. The DIM module monitors the ignition switch position, battery condition and passenger compartment door status to determine whether RAP should be initiated. The DIM module then sends a message to the listed modules telling them that they are in RAP power mode. The modules then support the operation of the systems under their control as required by their RAP power mode strategy.
RAP will end when one of the following conditions are met:
• The DIM module receives an input as a serial data message from the driver door module (DDM) indicating the opening of a passenger compartment door.
• The DIM module receives a message from its internal timer indicating the end of the RAP period after 10 minutes.
• The DIM module detects a decrease in battery capacity below a prescribed limit.
• The transition from OFF to RUN/ON or ACC of the ignition switch.

The DIM module then sends a serial data message to the listed modules ending the RAP function.
The modules receiving serial data messages for RAP functions are:
• The driver door module (DDM)
• The radio
• The rear integration module (RIM)
• The vehicle communication interface module (VCIM)-Generation F1
• The vehicle interface unit (VIU)-Generation 2.6

The Rap relay could be bad (stuck contact's ) or one of the three module's that make up the body control system . Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes should be the first step in diagnosing this type problem .

Where is the RAP Retained Aux Power module/relay located in a 2005 Corvette C6? Where can I find a wiring diagram and how would I check RAP status with a TechII???

Serial Data Control of Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
Retained accessory power (RAP) is a vehicle power mode that permits the operation of selected customer convenience items after the ignition switch is turned OFF. These selected items will remain in operation until a passenger compartment door is opened or until the RAP function timer reaches its shut-off limit.
The class 2 RAP power mode is mapped to GMLAN serial data circuit as Off power mode. Refer to Data Link Communications Description and Operation for more information on data link communications. The body control module (BCM) monitors the ignition mode signal from the ignition mode switch, battery condition and the doors status to determine whether RAP should be initiated. The modules that support the RAP power mode will operate the systems under their control as required by their RAP power mode strategy.
RAP will end when one of the following conditions is met:
• The BCM detects the opening of a passenger compartment door.
• The RAP timer expires.
• The battery capacity decreases below a prescribed limit.
• Any other ignition switch state is chosen.
The functions supported in the RAP power mode are:
• The power windows
• The instrument panel cluster (IPC) and driver information center (DIC) displays
• The entertainment devices

2006 chevy impala radio & dash lights stay on now when ahut car off, key out and close and lock doors automatically. Never happened before. Help please..

Could be relay contact's stuck closed allowing power to stay on . Or it could be a BCM - body control module problem .

Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
The retained accessory power (RAP) system allows certain vehicle functions to operate for a specific amount of time after the ignition switch is turned OFF. The body control module (BCM) monitors the ignition switch position, battery condition, and each door ajar switch status to determine whether RAP should be initiated or terminated. RAP is controlled with two different methods; serial data and relay control. Some modules receive a RAP message from the BCM over the serial data circuits. Serial data controlled RAP is deactivated as required by their modules RAP power mode operation. Other subsystems are activated directly by the BCM through a RAP relay. Components and systems that are active in RAP are also activated anytime the ignition is any position other than OFF regardless of the door switch signals.

Relay Controlled RAP
The BCM keeps the RAP relay energized during all power modes, except Off-Awake and Crank. The relay is also energized for approximately 10 minutes after shutting the ignition OFF and removing the key, providing no door is opened.
Relay controlled RAP will end when one of the following conditions is met:
• The BCM receives an input from any door ajar or open switch indicating the opening of any door after the ignition key is out of the ignition.
Important: If the BCM is receiving any door ajar or open signal from those switches when the ignition key is turned OFF, RAP will not initiate.
• The BCM internal timer for the RAP expires after approximately 10 minutes.
• The BCM detects a decrease in battery capacity below a prescribed limit.
Systems powered by the RAP relay during the RAP power mode are as follows:
• A/T shift lock control solenoid assembly (w/ floor shifter)
• Power window circuit breaker
• RAP fuse
• Inside rearview mirror (DD6)
• Sunroof (CF5)
Serial Data Controlled RAP
RAP systems controlled by serial data are as follows:
Radio
Radio RAP activation/termination is the same as relay operation with 1 exception; the only door switch that will turn off the radio during RAP is the driver door open switch.
Vehicle Communication Interface Module (VCIM) (Onstar®)
VCIM RAP activation/termination is the same as radio operation with 1 exception; if there is an active call when the ignition key is turned off the VCIM will remain in RAP mode, and keep the radio in RAP mode until the call is terminated.

I have a 2000 Suburban and my rap 1 fuse is missing what does it control

1500?/ you forgot that.?
some folks hate RAP, many. no,not the so called music.
first the meaning
R.A.P.
Retained Accessory Power

depends on car ./year etc.
but to find out all it does, login to alldata.com and read the schematic.
what it does is keep the car in accessory poweredup for up to 10mins.
key off.
if you live say in Alaska that can suck, using power key off.
draining the battery for funs and giggles can kill you, if not lucky.

1500
the rap fuse pulled
kills the RAP Relay
that means the BCM can never ever close that relay./

this kills the RAP RADIO feature (read the operators guide yet, it explains this)

the Radio schematic shows there are 2 power pins
RAP C1p9
and
RADIO.C1p10 orange.

so that kills rap power to the radio, there are others.
but that all depends on audio and accessories with RAP options.
the FSM Cover all this, no need to guess.
as does alldata.com, all the time.
