$7E8 and $7E9 are sub menus for the Engine and Transmission. You need to select one and press enter. It will then give you the code for that sub menu.

gosh, nissan spent 6 million dollars replacing faulty/leaking fuel injectors around that time ...maybe its worth a trip down to the dealer and do a campaign/recall search on your car...might be a car that was covered under that campaign and you might get injectors covered

SOURCE: my 1993 nissian altima stopped running going down

I would start by checking the fuses if it doesn't crank. Also, check your battery and make sure the terminals car clean and the wires have good connection. It could be a bad connection or bad starter. If it cranks and won't start, make sure your fuel pump is kicking on. You should hear it kick on when you turn the key. You may also have a clogged fuel filter. The best way to check the fuel is by putting starter fluid in the carburetor. If it starts and then dies, it is a fuel issue. If it does nothing, you need to test the ignition system. Make sure your getting spark. If your not getting spark, it may be because of spark plugs/coils and wires. It may be the distributor. Check your dist. cap and make sure all contacts are in place and the cap is not damaged. Make sure the rotor is spinning when you crank the car. If it is not, your car is probably out of time. The cause would be a timing belt possibly. You can check this by removing the front protection cover. It only has a bolt or two. It is usually on the left side of the engine. It is not your serpentine belt. You will see a front cover and a back cover. Your timing belt may have broke or slipped. There are so many possibilities it can be when a car doesn't start. You just need to start by checking for fuel and spark. If you could get the computer scanned and get a code, this is your best bet. The code will lead you in the right path hopefully. If you can't, check what you can. If you have a question, please let me know. I am here to help. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

How to change alternator on 2008 nissian altima

For a V6 altima easiest way is to remove the radiator. Altenator is on the front of the engine at the bottom. With the radiator out of the way can fit it out. Ususal atuff for the altenator. Disconnect the battery. Loosen the belt to remove it. The unplug connector and the 12mm bolt for the output. Then unbolt altenator to remove. Will not be able to fit it out without removing radiator

04 Altima 2.5 s w 150k changed cat 2014 1 yr later p0420 code again what r normal reads for 02 sensors? reads @ idle fluctuate @ .3V b1 sensor & .8V b2 sensor.anyone had p0420 that wasnt a bad cat

Those cars are notorious for engine problems unfortunately. The exhaust valves tend to warp from heat after around 200k miles. Therefore throwing the O2 codes. Best outcome and cost effective thing I can recommend is replacing the engine with a new or low mileage engine.

adjust the idling, if too low then it can't sustain the power needed to keep the engine running when it engages.

Oil and white smoke come from the tailpipe. it sputters and does not have a lot of power. is this cause there is water in the oil?

I would take the car straight to the dealer.
There is a Nissian technical bulletins out for this engine and Nissian has extended coverage for the engine. The engine has internal damage and Nissian is well aware of the issue.
