2003 suburban Losing power.....

Suburban start up with no problems.... after running for a 1/2 hour it's losing all power... dosn't matter if im driving ( if it shut down while driving, I can let it sit for a 1/2 hr and it will start back up with no problems)or just parked and running... where can I start with troubleshooting????

Do a back pressure check on the cat converter if gas powered. Diesel doesn't have one. If you get 1lb or more psi of back pressure the cat is bad. Also check the fuel pressure with a gauge when this happens.

Sounds like your catalytic converters may be plugged up. You can do a quick check by loosening the exhaust pipes from the manifolds and see how it performs.

AC systems have a pressure switch to prevent compressor from cycling when freon is low.if it's working occasionally,it most likely needs a 'booster shot' of freon.

The fuel pump should be in the 20s. Also it could be losing presure slowly. Leave the fuel pump pressure gage on for at least 2 to 3 hours to see if it is losing pressure - It's a start

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and watch it to see if when it dies you are losing fuel pressure. if you dont lose pressure then that eliminates the fuel system
