This could be a couple of things:

1. Check that you have not got any vacum leaks between inlet manifold and cylinder head.
2. Check your spark plugs and HT leads are in good condition and not worn, reset gaps. If worn replace them.

Worse scenario is the head gasket make be leaking water into a cylinder. Get a cylinder leakage test done to verify any manifold air leaks or faulty sealing head gaskets.

Not sure but the flasher unit is separate from turn signals and most vehicles the turn flasher unit is not far from the steering wheel post up under the dash.

I think that one is located on rear of motor under distributor..

they dont blink they just get bright and dim? may have a shorted bulb filament check the side that flashes funny..

Put your CRANK to ZERO and then put a screwdriver into the hole to see where the Line is and then align the Distributor that way, then you need to keep it loose so you can get the timing down correct.

As with any no start problem, you would need to check for power to the coil and the other ignition components.It could be a relay or it may not have anything to do with changing the battery.

Start it up, when it hits operating temp that the thermostat open,Have gloves on that you don,t get burn,t, Seaze the hoses from the rad going to the engine one at a time to check if antifreeze is flowing trough them, If you don,t feel any flow on the top one ,the water pump is shot, Or you can take off the rad cap, Before you fire the truck up, Start it end watch if it is circulateing though the rad, But i have seen to many people get scolded that way, The hose trick is a safer thing to do.
