SOURCE: Safe code for audi A3 2001 auz1z1

It's usually printed in the owner manual. If you don't have the owner manual, you will need to go to a dealer and have them generate a code.

Either that, or join an Audi or VW forum on the Web and see if you can find a mechanic who will generate one for you using the dealer software.

2008 vw passat 2.0t when turning on is fine I drive about 10 to 15 miles and all the gear shift signs light up (PRNDS) and it stays like that until I turn off the car and once I turn it back on and I drive...

You may use up most of that next grand, to diagnose
the issue

One thing for sure, if you use any vehicle with a transmission
issue, your going more than your broken timing belt & head
repairs

You know it has a problem & warning you to stop using it,
or ruin the trans,it is trying to save what is left by alerting you

Never read your owners manual
Never worry about the lights that come on
Keep driving it, why,everyone does

Your transmission will be about 5 thousand, why, euro car
WV/Audi

If someone could guess on a site like this or over the phone
How exactly would that help you?

You still know you have a problem
You still know it has to be diagnosed & resolved
You know it is trans related & they cost a lot
You know it has to go into some shop some time
Doesn't accelerate, that must be annoying & worry some

2004 vw beetle PRNDS lights started flashing and car slipped into neutral

Sounds like a problem with the selector switch. It is unlikely to be gearbox issue. I suspect the gearbox is being "told" to go into neutral!

Back to the dealer with that one so they can do a can bus test on the selector lever...

Brake line to caliper poped off

OK I understand your trying to safe a few bucks but your now costing yourself money.Stop what your doing, put all the parts in a box and call a toe truck. You need a mechanic now,its possible to fix what you have done,if it was only the line that is broken (ie the threads are stripped)at little cost. Now the bad news,if the Calliper is stripped your looking a few bucks so STOP now and don't try to drive, you have no brakes you'll kill someone! DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR. I know I said that a few times but I'm concerned.Hope this is helpful.

I own a Audi a4 multitronic 2005. Recently i'v had the PRND flashing either individualy or all together and I think it's not going through all the gears and an intermittent failure to engage reverse gear,...

I'm having a similar problem with my '05 A4 Multitronic with 75,000 miles on clock. PRNDS lights are all blocked out but not flashing (which I believe is worse). Car is driving ok after I had the EGR valve replaced by dealer at cost of £454. Dealer quoted me a further £1,077 to fit new gearbox ECU. Found a few websites that claim to be able to repair the ECU, best one seems to be www.BBA-Reman.com who quoted £169 +VAT + carriage. You do however need someone to take off and fit repaired ECU, had quotes ranging from £150 - £250 + £60 for 6L of new gearbox oil. However, I have been told by 3 independent garages that specialise in Audi's, BMW's & Merc's etc that they cannot be fixed, so I'm a little sceptical. To summarise the cheapest quote I've had for a new ECU fully fitted is from a garage on Tyneside (where I live) called Swift Motors 0191-2140056 who said they'd be able to do the lot for £860. Only bought car in February, absolutely love it, but sick as f**k at this unexpected cost which I can't afford. Had to take payment holiday from mortgage to cover the costs. Should have stuck with my old Ford Focus!! If anyone can offer any other tips I'd like to hear.
