My Nissan maxima has 5 wires on ignition switch. how do I hotwire them to make it crank?

5 wires? I can't remember what the fifth wire would be, but you have a power-in wire - white with black stripe. The blue wire is an accessory wire- don't need that. To crank the engine without starting it, you would touch the power wire (white/black) to the start wire-the yellow with black stripe. That would engage the starter.

If you want to wire it to run, you tie the white/black power wire to the run or ignition wire-this is a black wire with white stripe. With those together, your dash gauges and warning lights will be on-the ignition system is ON. Then if you touch the yellow/black (start wire) to the power wire that is tied with the ignition wire, the engine should crank over and start.

Wiring diagram for the ignition switch on a 2000 chevy s10 ?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to do that. The key and tumbler are an intricate part of the vehicles "anti-theft system. If the ignition switch or tumbler is broken it will have to be replaced and the theft code relearned. When the key is turned in the tumbler, the switch reads the key code and sends the code to the BCM. The BCM verifies the code is correct and sends a start message to the ECM and allows the engine to start. With out that code verification, the engine will not start.

Son tried to hotwire 2009 chevy equinoxt. now wont start

probably the starter is burned, and the anti theft system is activated. best bet is to have it towed since it is still new and insurance can still deal with it

My key broke off in ignition, i just want to get the car home, i can turn it to the on position but cannot get it to turn over... how can i hot wire it so to say?

If your looking to hotwire the car, and I only know this because when I was a kid this happened to me. There are three wires to the ignition. one for the starter one hot and one for acc. the two wires twist together the starter wire you must touch it to the two twisted together and once it starts pull the wire away from the hot wires, if you don't your starter will keep engaging. I would recommend, getting a locksmith, would cost 100.00 bucks and it wont mess up your steering collum

Bypasing ignition

http://www.ehow.com/how_2044915_hotwire-car.html

Hotwiring is used inilligal activities but in your case i dont have a problem in showing you how its done.

1.) Remove the part of the dash covering your ignition key assembly
2.) There should be 5 to 8 wires there
3.) Locate 2 wires of similar color
4.) strip these wires and tie then together this will turn on the ignition
5.) find the starter wire usually blue and touch it to these wires, Imidately remove it when the car has started.
6.) tape them up

If your wireing is a bit different or you dont have similar color wires then
use steps 1 and 2 from above
3.) locate the the on positive wire
4.) run a wire grom the negative battery pole to the on positive wire. (U can strip each wire there and ground it to the wire from the battery pole , the correct one will turn the ignition on.
5.) once located tie it to the ground.
6.) touch each one of the expose wires one by one until the car tumbles and starts.
