I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre and the rear passenger window will not roll down. I have taken a 12v dc adapter to roll the window back up. The motor works perfectly fine. I took my multimeter to the female ports on the connector to the motor and I pressed the switch down. I got 14v, which is the correct amount of voltage. When I push the switch up, I get 2v, which is not enough. I did the same with the master switch on the front driver door. I got the same results. I need to get this fixed quickly so I can get this car on the road.

The first thing that I would do is check for electricty at the motors them sel and work your way back.If there is elec. at the window motor it's self susspect a motor problem.Remove the motor to see if it spins (but it dosen't me its good it could be week)next check for binding in the window mecanism.

I would see if the haynes manual or chiltons manual has specs for the driver (main )switch so you can test ressistance. Sometimes when they go bad they can show up in one door, also verify voltage to the side rear window switch, as well as ground , the wire colors and location should be in the manual also, if everything checks out there start leaning toward the motor ,in that case you need to trace wire colors as well as schematics (manual), and bypass the switch to the motor directly this should identify yor culprit. hope this helps chris

The door panel will have to be removed.Look for all screws and remove them. Then pull panel off gentle. The little plastic keepers will pull out, some will stay in the panel, you will have to pry the ones in the door out and place them back in the door panel before reinstalling the door panel.Look for a broken gear,or I think in this case,a broken gear tape.also the window guides(may be not all of them)will have to be replaced. Then fold around the window, and fit in the track.I really can not tell you much more, this is the best I can instruct on this item,If I can still be of help, please ask.

Good Evening, I have run into this a number of times that the contacts in the switch between the lesabre, and the park avenues. Try a different switch and see how that works. I hope this is of some help.

Take off the door panel and disconnect the two wire plug one is brown the other is orange. Take two jumper wires and run them to a battery. If it goes down then switch the wires on the battery and it will go up. If it does not move then the window motor is shot and will need to be replaced.
