The gears are shot. You will never make it its a one piece unit. Pick up one at a junk yard and replace, or just drive and forget it. I anyone asks how many miles swag it, say over 5000.00 thousand.

My speedometer is not working. we already try to replace a new sensor and panel gauge but still is not working. Electerical was also checked and there were instances my speedometer works but suddenly it...

if speedometer and odometer are not working, chances are that the speed sensor is bad and stopped working. find vehicle speed sensor on transmission, the connection may be corroded or the sensor itself is bad. good-day !!

Car speedo & odometer sometimes work OK, other times not at all.

Most likely a speed sensor is going bad (most cars and truck do not use mechanical speedometer cables anymore) most sensors are located near the differential in rwd cars or near the drive shaft on the transmission. Best bet is to get a Haynes manual for your car to help locate the speed sensor. Remove it and take it to the auto parts store so you can visually compare it to the replacement. Install the new speed sensor and it should restore your speedometer and odometer.

My 92 honda civic speedometer works only half the time

check the connection from speedometer to transaxle. Often this becomes loose, especially the transaxle side. Also 92 was a first year model and have heard many wacky problems.

1995 honda civic dx

Look on the wiring harness it plugs in on top of the transmission
make sure all the wires are together. If every thing is ok with the wiring, The sensor is the only thing it could be. A gook used spedometer sensor from the junk yard will work this sensor dosent take a lot of abuse so a good used one will be cheap and work just fine. This is a job you can do your self and save a lot of money. I had the same problem with my 95 civic
