The diagnostic connector is located on the engine near the starter. However, there are four connectors in that location and without pictures it would be difficult to determine which is the proper one

Well, it sounds like your vehicle may have a bigger problem. I would go to a shop and have it coded. There is obviously a problem with the vehicle, may be something minor, but the light won't go off untill you fix it.

Location of the spare tire and tools
The spare tire and tools for your vehicle are stowed in the following
locations:

Removing the jack and tools
1. Lift the 3rd row seat cushion.
2. Remove the jack assembly from the bag under the seat.
Removing the spare tire
1. Open the liftgate, locate the U-shaped slits in the carpet, and flip up
the piece of carpet to expose the hex nut.
2. Insert the lug nut wrench on the
hex nut in cargo floor.
3. Turn the wrench
counterclockwise until tire is
lowered to the ground and the cable
is slightly slack.
4. Remove the retainer from the
spare tire. It may be necessary to
lift one end of the tire to disengage
the retainer

You may have more than 1 problem. You should go to Autozone or similar and ask for a scan. The battery should be checked for shorts also. If the battery is alright you want to check the big cables on the battery. The ground wire to the engine and the starter wire to the starter under the car.
The security system can go off if the noise or vibration trips a sensor in your vehicle. A loud car, airplane, or car door slamming can do it. Check your times for a neighbors activities. The dealer or alarm company may need to desensitize the alarm. Autozone has a tester for your remote keypad.
There is also a place on the menu in some vehicles "info center" to reset the doorlocks to lock automatically when you first drive away. There could be a bug in the system.

is thermostat in backwards or even sticking have had brand new stick due to poor machining
