What is the cause for flashing check engine light car missing badly
A flashing check engine light is generally for a really bad, active misfire that is causing unburned fuel to go into the Catalytic Convertor. Without a code, I cant really point you in the proper direction to fix it. I would recommend getting it professionally looked at very soon, or if you or a buddy know how to work on an engine, go to one of your local auto parts stores and have the code pulled for free to at least give you a decent idea of where to go. Given that you are driving a Gen I LS (I am assuming the 3.9L V8) coils and plugs are probably the most likely culprit (and possibly valve cover gaskets). There is also the possibility that the plastic tensioner for the timing chain has broken, causing the timing to go bad.
