1995 Chrysler Concorde Logo

I have a 1995 Chrysler Concord that cranks over but won't start. I check fuel pressure at the fuel line shradder valve and found no pressure. Assuming my fuel filter was plugged or fuel pump was dead I proceded to replace both items. Still no fuel pressure. Tested fuse to find most of the fuses do not have any power to them. But I also found by wiggling the tilt steering wheel the power would come back to the gages, blower motor & I was able to start the car. Once the key was turned off I lost electrical to the fuse box again until I wiggled the steering wheel. any help out there?

Sound like you need to locate a slack wire around the steering column, look at the barel first before taking the wheel of, as it could be a loos wire at the barrel=, whare you put in the key

Check the ignition switch for loose wires or corroded connections. If the connector looks discolored , change the switch out.

2003 concord, 2.7 engine v6 crank engine 1st time wont start. Turn key off and crank again and will start.. If warm engine and not sat long will fire first crank.

Test the fuel pressure regulator. It has a check valve in it to maintain fuel pressure when the engine is not running.

My 1998 dodge 1500 laramie (5.9 liter) won't

hi,

no,

check to see if its getting fuel. find the fuel rail service valve(it looks like a bicycle tire valve on the fuel line and has a cap on it)
hold it open while you crank it to see if fuel is present. if no fuel then its time for a fuel pump. if theres fuel pressure there during cranking then I would suggest taking it in to a shop to have the codes pulled on it rather than trying to diagnose anything else further...jm

Why do I have to pump the gas pedal to crank

Hello my name brad, you should never have pump the gas on a fuel injected system, check for correct fuel pressure at the shradder valve if you have fuel pressure tester. should be between 41 psi to 47 psi.i hope this helps.

Car turn over but will not start

hmmm. couple of thing to check, the first, are u getting fuel? probably a dead fuel pump to check this, there should be a shradder valve on the fuel rail (shradder valve usually look like a valve stem thingy off a tire, but all metal). To test, no spark or open flame...cigarettes etc.. put the car in the on position, you should hear a "whirr" from the trunk. that sounds is your fuel pump. underneath the hood, push down on the little shradder valve and see if any fuel squirts out (watch out for your face and eyes) this is the redneck quicky way of testing it. If you have fuel pressure check for spark. make sure that you have no gas sprayed anywhere....maybe do this first...probably safer. remove one of the spark plugs and put the spark plug boot back on plug. using plyers, hold the spark plug so that the metal threads on the spark plug touch something metal. now have someone turn the car over and look to see if there is spark or not.

good luck, hope this helps

Fuel system

No, it will bleed it self after a few seconds of crank time, verify you have fuel pressure, there is a shradder valve in the line going to the fuel injectors( known as the fuel manifold), depress it while someone cranks the engine and see if fuel comes out, is there gas in you tank? guages can be wrong, seen it a hundred times, car towed in, $100 later it turns out the guage is wrong and the car ran out of gas.
