Hi your problem is an easy one to solve. The trasducer in your transmission is out of calibration. The best thing is to have it replaced by your competent mechanic. The replacement part should cost you about $150.00 plus labor. Happy shifting.
are there any codes? Does it shift ok in 1st and 2nd? sounds like your over drive shift solenoid or your 3 and 4 shift solenoid is stuck and needs to be replaced
My truck had this issue, or one very similar. The 4L80E transmissions have a defect where transmission fluid can leak up into the big round electrical plug and short everything out. There are YouTube videos on how to clean out the plug and seal it so it doesn't happen again.
You've got to do the obvious things, look at your spark plug wires, if you see what looks like chalky residue they are arcing replace them and your plugs. Check all vacume lines for leaks, and make sure your air filter is clean
Hey buddy i have a 94 accord and i replaced the transmission and had the exact same problem. But it took me burning up the new tranny that was stuck in fourth gear on a hill to find out that the shift solenoids on the front of the tranny were bad. They are very expensive, so your best bet is to get them from a junkyard. Also i was told that my transmission control module could be bad, its located under the passenger side dash board, under the carpet. But luckily my problem was the solenoids, but i still had to put a second tranny in.
not sure on the set up of whether its rods or cables on this model for your gear linkages but sounds like one has either detached or broken which should be a relatively easy fix and not too expensive.Get a friend to move through gears while you look under to see whats moving and whats not.
