SOURCE: need to know what color 12 volt supply

My manual for a 99 300M shows two sources of 12 volt power to the mirror positioning switch, One is from the battery, switch terminal 11 wire M1, PK (pink). The other is from the start-run 12 volt line, switch terminal 5, wire G5 DB/WT (dark blue, white stripe). If you send me your email address to af6im at arrl dot net I can send you a scanned copy of the diagram.

I need to find a 12 volt switched line in the dashboard of a 2011 town and country

Usually your cigarette lighter is what is used to power the radar detector. If you want to add a 12 volt power port then you will need a multitester and check for a hot fuse on your fuse box that is not hot when the ignition is off, and wire your 12 volt power source into that.

Donnelly 012017 rear-view mirror on 2000 regal

Have to buy a new mirror or:

I was able to avoid buying a new mirror, but my mirror also became so foggy that it was unusable. This correction will not allow the Auto Dimm feature to work!!!!!!! But at least the mirror will function as a mirror. This took me about an 1 1/2 hours (glue needs to dry).

1) Take the mirror off the windshield
metal lever held mine in place
mirror then slides off
disconnect wires

2) Pull the mirror apart
it's glued together
Don't brake the plastic

3) Seperate front glass from the auto dim element
a clear front glass is sandwiched to the
element with a series (or piano style)
of metal clamps
the element is a reflective surface
the clear glass may brake, this is OK
it will not be reused, Be Careful Not
To Cut Yourself
Don't damage the reflective element, though

4) Clean the surface of the element
Be Careful Here, the element scratches
more easily than the glass surface would
have

5) Disconnect the 2 wire connector connected
to the element circuit
this is just a safety step to prevent the
element from trying to work and possibly
heating up

6) Put everything back together
glue the mirror back together
reconnect the mirror wiring if you
need to (my mirror had the compass
that needs power)
put it back on the windshield

I performed this repair about 6 months ago and have not had any problems. The element is the reflective surface that the mirror already used, so it reflects as it should. The auto dim feature, as stated before, does not work, but I didn't have to pay a couple hundred bucks for a new mirror or a used one that would eventually do the same thing. Their is a gap from the plastic edge of the mirror to the element the width of the clear glass that was removed. It is not noticeable to anyone but you.

2000 Buick Regal rear view mirror. Only the center of the auto dim mirror dims now.

I had the same problem. My mirror has map lights so I disconnected the wiring harness from the mirror. I had trouble getting this done, but there is a small clip you must pull back to release the wiring. Once I had the mirror free the button that you must glue back on the windshield is attached to the mirror by a strong metal spring clip. I placed a screw driver under the button and popped it out of the clip. Make sure you mark the outside of the windshield first before you clean off the old glue so you will know where to glue it back. I just placed a small piece of duct tape on the outside windshield. MAKE SURE YOU GLUE THE BUTTON ON CORRECTLY, so the mirror will slide back on. I let the new glue dry for several hours before I tired to re-attach the mirror. The directions said 15 minutes, but that is not long enough. I also sprayed the clip with some WD-40 so it would slide on the button easier.
Hope this helps

The Donnelly mirrors use the same 7-pin plug as the Gentex, but the pin-outs are different. Here is the pin-out for the Donnelly mirrors:

Pin 1 - +12 volts
Pin 2 - Courtesy lamp input
Pin 3 - (varies depending on mirror features)
Pin 4 - (varies depending on mirror features)
Pin 5 - Reverse disable (+12 volts in reverse)
Pin 6 - Ground
Pin 7 - Demand lighting input
