I'm working on 98 olds. Silhouette that someone else didn't finish All wires for starter are hanging lose a couple of small wires have no connectors . which wire goes where by color code . 3.4 liter

I don't have a great wiring diagram for the starter, but here is what I do have.
The large battery cable goes on the large center post, and so do the wires with a large connector on the ends. The purple wire should go on one of the small posts, usually marked S. If you need more detail let me know and I'll see what I can find.

Can a 5.7 tbi be used in a 5.7 vortec truck

I think the heads are different too.
A salvage yard or auto machine shop could probably tell you for sure.

1994 Olds Cutlass Ciera starter issues

You should have two or three wires that go to the large post on the solenoid, including the 4 gauge wire from the battery. Then one 16 gauge wire to the small post. That wire comes from the key switch.
Let me know if you need colors for wires.

How do you know how to hook wires to starter?

typically there will be one heavy gauge red wire with a loop eye terminal. It will be pretty obvious where to attach this wire being that there is a large threaded post on the starter which you will bolt the red wire to. MAKE SURE TO DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY TERMINALS FIRST. then there will usually be a smaller gauge black wire that will thread onto a smaller post. bolt your starter in place, attach the battery cables, and you will be set.

How do I replace the starter in my 1990 Buick Century?I have taken off all the bolts so far but there might be another that I cannot see? Is anyone else familiar with this problem? One of the bolt was...

their should be 3 bolts holfing the starter motor onto the gearbox then at the other end of the starter motor check their is no bracket holding it onto the gearbox at the other end this might be whats causing your problem if not then pry the starter off with a screwdriver and hammer it might just be stuck tight.
If it does not move at all then you need to check their are no bracket at the end where the wires go onto the starter as one of the studs the wires go onto their might be a bracket witch will need undoing not only from the starter but also form the gearbox itself so as to give you enough room to pull the starter out.

Let me know if you need further assistance ok

Color of wire from start key switch to solenoid

Fords use under hood mounted starter relays. They look like a mine withe 2 large threaded posts abd two small threaded posts. Ignore the two large cable posts. If only one small post has a wire on it, remove wire and try to start engine. If no crank, put back on and try cranking. If it cranks then that is the wire you will put juice to with the other side of the in hand momentary button" connectected to the hot big past. Battery cable big post. Note! momentary button only. be safe, you will be too far from the brakes. Always block wheels. set parking brake. make sure trans is in neutral or in park Do not use remote starter while standing in front of the vehicle or while under the vehicle.
