SOURCE: Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

SOURCE: cooling fan switch/or sensor

The Coolant temp Sensor is located right under the top radiator hose (on the engine side), with a little black connector!, You might have to remove th etop hose to get to it with a deep socket and extension!.
Also Dont Forget to blled the coolant system by the bleeder valve uptop right near/above the coolant sensor!.(10MM Mini socket w/ extension IIRC!)

SOURCE: My 2000 lincoln ls cooling fan will not turn on.

Radiator cooling fan is not electric, it is driven by a silly hydraulic pump which is located low on the passenger side of the engine above the alternator. All 2000-2002 LS's have this system. Most likely either the motor or pump has failed.

What causes both cooling fans to not run?

Hi Naomi , there is a lot involved in the control of the cooling fans on your vehicle ! There are three fuse's , three relays an a fan control unit !
1. radiator fan main relay , located in underhood relay box A
2.condenser fan relay , located in underhood relay box A
3.radiator fan relay , located in underhood relay box C
4.Cooling fan fuse # 47 20amp. underhood fuse / relay box
5.condenser fan fuse # 50 20amp in underhood fuse / relay box.
Any one of these could cause them to not work, rather then just replacing parts an wasting money you should take it to the repair shop !

2006 Saab 9-3 radiator cooling fan relay location please?

Pat Egan

The thermostat has no bearing on the issue, the coolant sensor does though. The one last thing that may solve the puzzle would be the Radiator fan relay. Relays can be tested, don't blindly replace it.

198 mercury sable cooling fans motor

Cooling fans ( on radiator ) only come on when the engine reaches a certain (hot) temprature. There is a temp sensor threaded into the radiator end reservoir that switches a relay off and on that runs the fans. Either the temp sensor or the relay is probably bad. Normally , those fans will not be on if the car is moving , the air flow from just driving is sufficient to cool the rad. If you stopped and idled for a while , eventually the rad would heat up enough for the fans to come on.

Help

The thermoswitch, if there is one*, is located on the lower portion of the radiator just in front of the turbo outlet pipe. Here is a picture: http://quasimotors.com/fanswich.htm
The other "radiator" is probably your A/C condenser.
You have a 1997 which is T5 engine management (begun in 1995), so there is no thermoswitch because the fan is controlled directly by the ECU from the signal given by the coolant temperature sensor. I would suspect that one of the fan relays has bought the farm. (On some cars, there were two relays, one for low speed and one for high). Here is a picture: http://quasimotors.com/cooling_fan_relays.htm
For general diagnostics of the cooling system, go here: http://quasimotors.com/coolfan.htm
2 stage cooling fan wiring diagram here: http://www.thesaabsite.com/9000/9000-fan-wiring.pdf
This also will tell you where to find other components to check, like the fan speed resistor, and provide other diagnostic checks.

Could be the fan thermoswitch. The thermoswitch, if there is one*, is located on the lower portion of the radiator just in front of the turbo outlet pipe. Here is a picture.
You may also have one of the fan relays failing. (On some cars, there were two relays, one for low speed and one for high). Here is a picture.
