Need to find Camshaft position sensor and crank se

Assuming you actually meant a Lincoln LS, the Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the front of the engine, just below the driver's side (in US) valve cover gasket. The crankshaft position sensor is located near the front passenger side of the engine block, a bit above where the alternator is mounted. Be aware though that both of these sensors, if bad, would provide very different symptoms. Is there a particular symptom you are trying to solve through replacing these?

I think some people (myself included) are confused between camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. I believe their are 4 camshaft position sensors in 2 banks, I’d like to know all these locations as I have p0014 and p0021 corresponding to both banks of CAM shaft sensors. Where are these locations please? I have 2009 Enclave also.

Crank shaft sensor.

PCM= Powertrain Control Module. It is the brains of the car, it reads the sensor in put from all sensors including the cam shaft position sensor

Camshaft position sensor gives the position of cam related to the engine crankshaft which is useful for the fuel supply; ignition, injection, valve opening and closing system. Magnetic type sensor is used on the timing cover over the camshaft gear. Camshaft position sensor is same as that of crank shaft speed sensor in terms of construction and working. if the cam sensor is bad, it will definitely not start. The cam shaft position sensor's function is: the engine speed and crankshaft position information is supplied frome a sensor which is usually situated at the front or rear of the crankshaft. note that distributor-located engine speed sensor are generally being replaced with crank shaft-located sensors,as worn disributor drives and associated components can effect the accuracy of the engine speed signal.

A camshaft position sensor,or cylinder identification sensor is used to determin the engine cycle position the information is used to provide individual cylinder ignition and injection cotrol.Many engine mangement systems use an inductive type of sensor that is located near the camshaft;when the camshaft rotates a single signal is passed to the ECU to indicate a reference point in the engine cycle

The "cam crank" sensor is the "reader" for position and speed of the camshaft. This sensor send informations to Engine Control Unit about camshaft position and speed. If the sensor is faulty engine stops!

The cam sensor is integrated with the crank shaft sensor behind the crank shaft pulley. The 3.1 runs 2 crank sensors. the one behind the crankshaft pulley in integrated to act as a cam sensor. It has 2 sets on rings for that sensor, 1 is in use accustomed for the fuel timing.

2.0L 2.4L Removal The camshaft position sensor is mounted to the rear of the cylinder head.

Remove the negative battery cable. Disconnect the PCV hose and reposition Disconnect electrical connectors from the camshaft position sensor. Remove camshaft position sensor mounting screws. Remove sensor.Loosen screw attaching target magnet to rear of camshaft and remove magnet.
Instalation The target magnet has locating dowels that fit into machined locating holes in the end of the camshaft.
- Install target magnet in end of camshaft. Tighten mounting screw to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.) torque. Over torqueing could cause cracks in magnet. If magnet cracks replace it.
- Install camshaft position sensor. Tighten sensor mounting screws to 12.9 Nm (115 in. lbs.) torque.
- Carefully attach electrical connector to camshaft position sensor. Installation at an angle may damage the sensor pins. - Connect the PCV Valve hose. - Connect the negative battery cable.
2.7L V6 Removal
The camshaft position sensor is mounted in the front of the head.

Disconnect electrical connector from sensor. Remove camshaft position sensor screw.
CAM Sensor Location 2.7L
Without pulling on the connector, pull the sensor out of the chain case cover.

Installation - Install sensor in the chain case cover and push sensor in until contact is made with the boss on the head. While holding the sensor in this position,install and tighten the retaining bolt to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque.
- Attach electrical connector to sensor.
