My car was at the mechanics for about 3 weeks because it would not run smoothly (spitting and sputtering while driving until about 30 miles and hour then ran fine.) He changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap and crankshaft sensor but when he said the car was ready and i went to pick it up i got in and turned the key and only heard some small noise like something turning (my guess is the starter thingy that turns to connect to the fly wheel was turning but not making connection so no other sound was heard) of course i left it there and the mechanic called me a few days later and said i needed a new flywheel.
Well i towed it home last night and now don't know what to do. Any suggestions on what could be wrong?
Check to make sure your starter bolts not loose or 1 fell out. your starter drive pinion gear is broken or the fly wheel is broken. take the starter to advance auto or auto zone to check it out . buy a fly wheel dropping the tranny to have it put on going to cost you .good luck.
Sounds like your starter ruined your flywheel. replacing the flywheel is not easy. also expensive. call a couple of tranny shops to get an estimate.

Thanks for your suggestions and to me it sounds like you guys are both leading me in the right direction. I do know what it sounds like when the flywheel needs to be replaced and after installing the starter last night and trying to start the car it sure sounds like it is the flywheel. Thanks Again!!!
