I have a '96 Mustang with a '00 Crown Vic trans. Had to shorten the driveline, swap shift lever, all the sylinoids, speed sensors. My overdrive light works when you push the button, but doesn't change anything, and it won't go into first, even if you shift it manually. Any solution? Or did I miss doing something in the swap?

Your transmission fluid contain water,thats why the colour of the fluid changed to pink.And of such the clutch is slipping causing the engine to reve up before shifting - Check transmission cooler.

there is an sensor on the speed odmeter cable on the side of transmission. it will kill thr overdrive and cruise control but not the speedometer. about $50.fixed 2 explorers that way

I have that exact same truck and transmission and My Transmission did the exact same thing about a year ago and there was some kind of snap ring inside the transmission that broke. I originally thought it had to be an electirical problem because the truck shifted fine until OD or if i turned OD off. The 4r70w is a light transmission and i would suggest you have a shift kit put in and they make a heavier kit to beef it up.. Sorry its probably not the new you were looking for.

check to see if the computer is getting proper voltage on the yellow wire if that is not it ckeck the large red wiresmy dads truck had this problem last year the yellow wire was defective in the harnes the tack and the transmission work off the computer trust me it is a simple fix run a new wire from the solinoid on the pasenger side to the computer relay on the driverside and replace the relay too
