2002 freelander cylinders 4and5 misfiring codes

Land Rover Freelander
P0304 AND P0305<<<<<< no engine told at all. a V6 of sorts.?
ONLY>?
misfire on OBD2 means, only weak combustion pressures there.
or weak power from those 2. only
causes are manifold.
  1. bad spark plugs there. (i bet all)
  2. bad /weak injectors there.
  3. weak compression on this 2, (a tool tests this)
  4. burned head valves there.
  5. blown head-gasket between 4 to 5 (I6) (NO)
  6. vacuum leaks (air) to #4 of #5 via intake man or injector seals.
  7. bad spark coils. or boots on there tips a carbon wreck.
  8. worse deeper engine issues, cam lobes, a mess. or piston rings.
wild guess is this your engine?
2.5-litre V6 Rover KV6 Engine petrol (2001-2006), badged as 'V6'
24-valve quad-cam DOHC.
and horrid belt drive cams super hard to fix. lacking custom tools.
Firing order. 1-6-5-4-3-2
1, 3 and 5 starting at the front of the engine. left-hand bank
means even odd banks.
means head gasket can not do #5 act this V6 not I6
why do a tuneup, 100k miles , new spark plugs and boots on COPs
there are 6 cops there, COIL OVER PLUGS.
The boots can be replaced cheap, on tips and new spark plugs
gapped to spec.
USA.(answers)

as you see COP 4 AND 5 DO NOT SHARE SPARK COILS.

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus sxt coupe with a Mitsubishi engine. My code reader said misfire in Cylinder 2.

P0302, see I now it, but is it only 1? DTC error?
2 engines , or where? and up to 5 world wide, NO VIN
Engines, Mitsu. no clue told.

V6 2.7L? (so says dodge.com USA> go this?
2.4 L EDZ I4 4G64 I4 DOHC and SOHC
2.4 L EDV/EDT turbo I4 (Mexico)
2.7 L EER V6 ) i GUESS THIS IF Usa CAR. has 6 COPS
Coup?:
2.4 L 4G64 I4
3.0 L 6G72 V6

my best guess USA is VIN K engine, no vin told so engine is UNKNOWN,

it means, this, only.
Low combustion on #2 cylinder, (spark, fuel injection or compression bad)#2
#1 is on crank pulley end. #4 is at transmission I4, F1234R
rear means tranny end. oK?
v6
all V engines 99% #1 is the bank V that is most forward cyl. of all.
to the crank pulley's
2nd is always 2nd in firing order, always, and PCM dictates it.

2.7l v6 24v ffv . dohc mpi engine.
firing order, 2.7L 1-2-3-4-5-6 even odd ;odd banks.

causes (v6 cops)
1: spark plug bad #2
2: spark coil bad, COP 2 dead? or weak or boot bad.
3: oil flooded inside the spark plug well, shorting all above out.
4: injector bad #2 (omg PCM, nah) swap 2 top find it;
5: compression fails #2
only 1 code told so answer is 100% based on 1 code only 302
6: rare bad cam lobe.
7: rare cracks in head , antifreeze leaks to #2 combustion chamber.
8: oil leaks to #2 via all classic ways.

I have been having for years cylinder 3 misfire on 2001 Ford F-150 5.4l due to coolant getting in the spark plug well. Any ideas?

yes 15psi coolant can leak and spray where ever it wants, called squirting.
gee park the car hot, open the hood and look for 1hr. idling hot.
the leak will be found.???
by just looking, not casually , every inch there.
your valve cover and spark coil (COPS) has leak (coolant)
some cars with cops can have a seal at the bottom of the COP well..
if not good it leaks oil not coolant so are you confused on
green coolant over, brown oil?
and spray can not land and pass by COP top seals unless those seals are bad (a double failure this) and 21 year old.

2001 engine ford 5.4L.

"tested for cracked head/gasket 3 times"
combustion side and water jacket leak down test. both?

it seals the combustion chambers and independent COP WELLS
5.4 liter TRITON engine not super charged , correct?

this engine is odd for cops. not done center of valve covers
or plugs at exhaust ports, (no cop fits there ever)
so ford put the cops into the head, and the head gasket is bad there
or you have casting flaw to the cop well to the water jackets

one way to find this is :
clean the #3 well dry
then on cold engine
run it till hot, 180f to 200F and cut the engine at key
then pull #3 cop and with a flash light look down the well to see the now 15psi pressure pushing(green collant) in to the well
if seen to ooze from inside walls, that is a castling flaw.
or the intake manifold water gasket seal leaks and drains down the cop hole.
I have no xray view of the head or this would be a childs play answer, given that.,
not sure me what heads are here, SOHC or DOHC. 2 or 3 or 4 valves per cylinder. guess at SOHC 2v.
5.4L has many varants on heads. photos of your cops would answer all that.
are your heads F6AZ MARKED.

see this water jacket port on Intake MAN they can leak can to places not wanted.

54l-undefined-undefined-0.jpg RECAP[
BAD GASKETS RELATED HEAD/ AND INTAKE.
BAD HEAD CASTING FLAW
the cop boots on an car this old are no good, and cheap to replace.
like $15 a pop
clean them up and HV just hates, contam., here, clean it all.
use NGK plugs or AC not chumpions.< that love to break)
sure ford, parts , sure motorcraft.
sure.
here is the 3v head. see that wall there behind the cop,
forget cylinder numbers for now.
see this, coolant would have leak massive to go over this dam.
so what heads do you have? 3 kinds. (2 or 3 is possible) 4 not.

cop-undefined-undefined-5.jpg

cop-undefined-undefined-3.jpg this is Mr.COP, see the red arrow
if the coolant is sitting above the seal , and cop is pulled out , it then goes down, to the spark end. and spark ends.
if there is head casting flaw it will leak seen car parked hot engine turn off and 15psi coolant pressure will leak at #1 intake runner
or in the well
one or the other, and is the cause when seen. and tested.

Were are the spark plugs on a 2008 suzuki apv van

in what country?
all spark plugs on gas engines are in the cylinder head.
they can be only 2 places there, (side or top)
1.6L
G16B, are all on the top.
if G16,
my guess, is g16ID engine, DOHC
and is MPI injected
and has , my guess, 4 cop coils on top, that youve never seen before, right>? and each "coil over plug", hides all spark plugs from causual sight, right?
we remove them first , 1 by one, the cops,
just like on all suzuki engines with COPS,

short answer
under those COPS.

2002 ford escape.....truck started sputtering and would not accelerate very fast and check engine light started blinking. what could it be?

I have an 2002 Escape with a 3.0L engine.
First you need to get a OBD2 scan for the check engine code.
I suspect the code will tell you that one of the cylinders is misfiring.
If you also have the V6 engine, the most common cause of misfire is one of the Coil-Over-Plugs (COP). Each cylinder has a COP on the spark plug.
On the V6, you need to remove the upper intake manifold to get the back 3 COPs.
If you have a V6, and you have cylinder misfire, I recommend replacing all the plugs and coils.

I have had 2 COPs go bad. The second time, I replaced all of them.

Removing the intake is fairly easy if you have some repair experience. You need to get an intake gasket set for about $10-15.
The coils run +$75 each for OEM. I went with Ebay aftermarket; 6 coils for about $80.
I recommend replacing the plugs with the exact same brand as original. There is no miracle plug that will give you better performance or mileage. Stay original.

2001 Escape 3.0 L "suddenly"

go to autozone for a free code readout.

I suspect you are going to get misfire codes. You need to fix ASAP as misfire will ruin your cats which are part of teh manifolds which means abotu $1000 for both.
I think you are going to have to replace all plugs and COPS, coils on plugs. Or at least on the misfring cylinders.

The danger here also is that a shorted COP will take out your PCM, engine computer.

Report back codes and progress.
