If it was a dealer, go back & have him scan it for fault codes. Usually cheaper to have it scanned and replace one faulty part, than replace 5 parts before you hit the right one. Autozone & PEP boys apparently will scan for free if you bought it private.

Friend has 2001 ford taurus with 3.0l ohv engine he says he was driving and it lost power and just quit after turning the engine it sounded like the timing so we replaced the timing chain and gears, well...

Take it to a qualified repair shop , we have no idea what you did all and if it was done correctly ! This is something a professional would need to see , timing marks lined up ?

Ford Taurus 1996, coolant comes out throughout the cap every time when car stops

You will overheat the engine if losing coolant.Firstly replace the cap with a new one,Is the engine temperature normal when you stop ? If its over temperature it will still blow out coolant. Check the radiator for blockage of the tubes & ensure the fan belts and water pump are in good order. Worst case is a blown head gasket can test for combustion gases in the coolant

1996 Ford Tuarus

You really have to think a bit about when those sometimes are. Is it only when the engine is already warmed up? Is it only when the engine is cold? If you have a tach on the dash, what is the real high idle speed of the engine? How many rpms? Does the transmission shift hard or smoothly?
