Did you replace whole hub with bearing assembly.problem you having sound like wheel bearing noise.

  • Anonymous Feb 23, 2013

well I guess my husband replaced one and we have to return the other one because ot was the wrong one.

possible new wheel bearings could have factory defects. if you replace both axles and wheel bearings with hub should not be hearing wheel bearings noise.

Will the front driveshaft cause humming if it is free wheeling

The noise your hearing is most likely a hub bearing It will look like axle shaft is moving because the bearing is what the axle sits into if the noise changes when driving and turn wheel to left and right if so if you turn left and noise changes then your right frt bearing is bad and vise a versa.

1994 concorde - humming noise from front end at 60+kmph. Is it cv joint? Is this something i can replace? How do i know which side is gone, or do you automatically do both? Thankyou for listening.

Could possibly be the hub bearing or the cv...but the cv usually makes noise when you turn..sort of a clunking sound...you can check the bearings by taking off the wheels and grab the spindle assembly to see if there is any side to side movement...also try to feel if it feels rough when you turn it(you may have to put car in neutral to turn it)...there also is a possibility that the rotor is warped..but you would really notice it when you brake as the car would sort of shake a bit...if all else fails I would recommend taking the car to one of those front end alignment places that offer free estimates and have an ase mechanic look at it

BEARING NOISE IN FRONT END RT SIDE DODGE SUV DORANGO COULD IT BE CV JOINTS OR BEARING IN FRONT HUMS

Most likely it is the RH front wheel bearings. CV Joints don't usually make any noise until you turn a rather sharp corner. I would advise you to replace the bearings and seals in both front wheels if the bearings are in fact noisy. Jack up the front and spin each wheel, you'll soon hear the sound of rumbling bearings.

Front end shakes when accelerating

The desciption you gave is exactly how it feels when you have an axle with a bad inner CV joint. It won't make a "clicking" noise like when you have a bad outer CV joint, but will shake pretty bad on accel. If you crawl under the car while it's on the ground (don't lift it) and grab on to the axle close to the inner CV joint and wiggle it, there shouldn't be very much play in it. If there is play in it, replace that axle.
