When I try to accelerate my car has no power!

On a level road my 1995 Nissan Altima runs fine , but not perfect. If I push the pedal to the metal, the car does accelerate right away. On hills it's worst(the car feels like it bog down). The car does not accelerate at all, but if I ease up up on the pedal the car will eventually pick up speed.

The car hasn't had tune for long time. Could this cause the problem?

Thanks!
Mike

There could be a couple of reasons. Yes a tune up would be nice. But my not fix the problem. If you are not losing acceleration on straight away but on hill, then it could be the torqe converter. Also have your MASS airflow sensor checked and air filter.

Also check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Get a fuel gauge and look for a port on the fuel rail for a port that looks like the valve on the tire. Screw it in and crank the car. You will have to call the part store to find out what pressure it is supposed to be. If there is low or eratic pressure the its the filter or pump

I have a 2012 nissan altima 2.5 s on a road trip it starts to lose power and the rpm’s run high. It has transmission fluid in it. So what is it??

Usually once a transmission starts to slip, it is too late to save it. The damage is already done and a rebuild is in your near future. As far as a cause, it is usually from low fluid levels, excessive wear, or excessive temperature.

Why my car is not accelerating when i push down the gas pedal

This kind of cars the gas pedal is electronic, that means there is no metal cable to the carb. the first thing is check for any disconnected wire harness at the pedal or on the engine compartment at the throttle body everything looks fine the pedal could be defective

1995 Nissan Altima Stuck in First Gear

1. check transmission fluid level or if you can change the fluid & filter.
2. check throttle position sensor (tps).
3. if fluid level & tps are ok & still not upshifting automatically, temporarily (so you can take it to a transmission specialist) , try to manually shift. starting from dead stop, shift to D1. at about 25mph shift to D2. (be gentle on the accelerator & don't over rev on each gear. release accelerator pedal & don't step on the brakes while shifting from D1 & D2).

2007 nissan altima won't go in reverse or drive

Hi,
It starts and runs OK, correct?

Check your fluid level - Directions in the Owner's Manual.

Are you pushing the brake pedal b4 trying to move the lever (sorry, have to ask)?

Does the lever move @ all? Into Neutral?

Is the Check Engine Light on?

Sounds like you'll need to have it towed to a shop. Call the Better Business Bureau for a reference, or recommendations from family/friends.

My 2003 Nissan Altima won't accelerate. A friend told me to turn the car off and pull up on the gas pedal and try to start again which worked twice. The car will start and idle but acts as if the...

The accelerator is a potentiometer connected to a pedel and the wires go directly to the ECM. If the AWU( accelerator Working Unit) was bad the engine would run constant at 1800-200 rpm. Do any codes come up? I will do some more research and repost.
