Climate control panel dead

The display, LEDs and all the controls on the climate control panel appear to be dead. Also, the engine management light is on. I think it happened whilst I was driving - I became aware that the car was misting-up, went to turn-on the demister and realised that nothing was working.

Not sure if this is related, but a few weeks ago I had an 'engine over temperature' warning message, along with the engine management warning light and the temp gauge at max, but the car was not overheating, I continued to drive for 35 miles, and all was OK the next time I switched the ignition on. The dealer checked it out and found nothing.

Hi Badrick

Firstly, try disconnecting both your battery connections, and with the battery disconnected, turn the ignition switch fully, 3- 4 times ( To just discharge the computers ) Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + ) first.
This usually cures your problem.

Good Luck
John.

No auto climate control display

It sounds to me like your battery is toast. It's not providing enough power for the systems to function properly. Weird things can happen when the battery/charging system if faulty. Have your battery tested.

Climate control is dead?

It sounds like one of 2 things happened:
1. You blew a fuse, be sure to check the fuse panel
2. You knocked the power block to the climate control system loose. Check that the power block leading to the climate controll is tight into the control unit

Climate control not working on 2001 volvo

I was having the same problem with a dead climate control module after disconnecting the battery on my 2002 v70. i tried (one method that sometimes works for people) disconnecting the battery again, shorting the leads for 10 seconds, and reconnecting with the key at position 2, to no avail. I managed to get my climate control back again when I jump started the car after the battery conveniently crapped out. then i got a new battery and when i installed it the ccm died. i jumped it again, with the new battery still hooked up, and the ccm came back. it's something try.

Apart from the fuse box in the engine bay there is a fuse repository behind the coin alcove underneath the boot release. Fuse 3 for the lighter (I think) was blown. I replaced it and now the climate control console responds and the display lights up.
