SOURCE: Smoke problem

hey
there are couple of smoke type.blue smoke is oil, black smoke is fuel, and white smoke is water, if it clears after starting and running a few minutes it's probably your valve guide seals leaking oil down on top of your pistons, causing it to smoke until burned off and foul your plugs.

SOURCE: engine looses power

start with a full tune up. it is a good possibility that the spider injector is on its way out.

try your crank shaft sensor, sounds like the same problem i had , had crank shaft sensor replaced and it drove fine afterwards. maybe go to auto zone or something and see if that code comes up

I have an 04 dodge 5.9 Cummins and it loses power and blows smoke every where and the rpms want go over 2200

That depends on what color the smoke is. Blue smoke means burning oil and you probably loosing compression therefore loosing power. White smoke means coolant

My Landrover Discovery 300tdi 1995, loses power drastically to almost stopping point. failing to climb steep hills and check engine comes on, only going off when I stop accelerating. This has been gradual...

replace ignition coil, spark plugs, also double chek your coolant temperature must be normal. overheating causes car slows down and engine cant handle excessive high temperature or may damage it.

Oil leaks in a 2004 VW Passat

assuming car is leaking oil not burning it [blue smoke] look under car and check where oil is coming from if done at a shop should have brought back so correction could be made --if coming from filter area possible wrong filter -cross threaded -loose -or missing/doubled gasket=if coming from pan area drain bolt same -loose -cross threaded-missing gasket-

My crystler concord just got an oil change 2 to 3 weeks ago and i changed the oil filter, but the oil level is already low, what does that mean?

Does the car emit blue smoke from the exhaust when driving? If so, either the piston rings or valve seals could be bad (expensive repair). The PCV valve could also be bad. The last reason (but no blue smoke) might be a physical oil leak due to a loose oil filter, drain plug, leaking oil pressure sensor, or worn crankshaft seal. Good luck!

Black smoke when accelerating and seems to be just underpowered

Have you changed the crancase breather situated at the rear of the engine by the air filter, cost is about £30 from Landrover, should be changed every 12000 miles, often lasts 60000 miles and then it shows a problem. If not changed the crancase will pressurise and you will get oil coming out of the engine all over the place and clouds of soke from exhaust.
