According to my haynes manual for G-S reg, 1989-1998 it goes as follows,
Stage 1:- Tighten all bolts by hand until bolt heads just contact cyl. head.
Stage 2:-Tighten all bolts to 40Nm or 30lb ft.
Stage 3:-Angle tighten all bolts a further 60 degrees.
Stage 4:-Angle tighten all bolts again a further 60 degrees.
Stage 5:- M12 x 140mm bolts ONLY angle tighten a further 20 degrees.
Hope this helps everyone, sorry it seems longwinded but that is how it's written in the manual.
My land rover discovery 1 1995 won't start i get
You need a noid light for that but since they are all not firing it's most likely the cam shaft position sensor. That tells the computer the cam shaft position so it knows when to pulse each injector. Let me know if that's it. The cam shaft sensor should be pretty cheap.
I have the stereo wired up in my 1995 landrover
Sound like the Eurovox unit. Regardless, determine the make and model number of the radio/CD unit and do a GOOGLE search for that unit.
I don't remember the site but there are several that will supply a wiring diagram for that model. You already know you can spend hours trying to find a fault like that one - a specialist installer (NOT a Land Rover dealer) will probably fix it for less than $50
MY dISCOVERY 1995 3.9 IS
95 model is injected,so the easiest area to check first is the thermostat. This controls the engine heat and if stuck open or missing the ECU will get a cold reading and run the injectors rich. Also get the timing checked. Is it running on a running in oil or has it been changed now to the correct spec.
Also ensure that the sensors by and on the thermostat housing are connected and to the correct plug.Check to ensure that the sparkplugs are ok as rich running can choke them up and make hard starting.Check the air filter,if dirty it restricts the airflow. Also the airflow meter can get dirty, there is a suitable sensor cleaner that is available.dont be tempted to use any other solvent.I hope this helps,if not get back with some more info and will try to diagnose further.
Overheating

Default code P1451 Land Rover Discovery II
The code P1451 on a Land Rover is "Leakage Detection Module Motor power stage error Drive cycle A:Signal out
of range - above maximum". This is an OBD-II diagnostic system code. As far as I know, a 1995 Land Rover Discovery does not use a OBD-II system. Is it possible that this rover is a later model year
