    Before I can provide this information, I need the actual year of the van, whether it is an Econoline series (for example: E-250 or E-350), and what size and type of engine that the van has. There were several different motors installed in Ford Vans, so this is pertinent before I can present the correct diagram. Let me know...

I have a 2001y reg transit tipper and i think the starter motor is going when i go to start it like grinds then some times it starts perfect

Replaced starter motor 53 plate t350 90 transit van. lots of dust replaced fly wheel and clutch and sensor :speed up to 50 miles per hour and temp gauge goes up and cuts power

1998 Ford Transit 2.5 turbo diesel long wheel base truck.
There isn't one. Because it is operated by putting the van into gear, it is probably a function of the BCM from a switch on the gearbox. Check the socket for continuity to ground and also for rust.

Starter Motor
Starter motors are always found somewhere around the perimeter of the bellhousing, usually on either the left or right side, on lower part. Starter always has a large wire connected to it the same as the one on the battery. If you already have the new unit, look at the mount holes and use that as a reference on where they are on the one in vehicle (also check for any top or side brackets). Sometimes starter has to be manuvered out from between other components. If impossible, then anything in the way must be moved. Always disconnect the battery before working on starter. Make notes on where wires are before removing them, and put them back the same way.
