SOURCE: saab 9000 cse turbo

Hi Steve,
I had a similar problem on a full pressure SAAB 9000. With me it only happened under hard acceleration, and it was caused by the Waste Gate Controller being sticky and over-boosting the engine to the point where the overpressure switch came into play - this cuts out the engine till the pressure drops to a safe level again - hence the sudden loss of power. On the full pressure turbo's you get a boost gauge so you can see it happening, but I don't think the LPT's have one fitted - so its probably a garage job - otherwise Saab9000.com will show you how to test it yourself.

Regards

Hugh

SOURCE: my 1993 saab 9000 cse steering does not tilt

i have a 1997 saab 9000. there is a coolant leak on the side of the engine that looks like the exhaust engine manifold but i know that is not.
when you standing in front of the car with the hood opened up. the front of the engine is facing sideways to the left.
looking at the engine in front of you towards the lower middle side is something that resembles an exhaust engine manifold attached with bolted to the engine block is coolant spraying or leaking from the far right right arm. what is this part and what do you call it so that i can go to the parts store and buy it.
i can not locate a photo of the engine block so that i can email to you?
please help me? Please????

My 1996 saab Turbo 9000 CSE turbo recently the speedometer and odometer stopped working, car felt like it would drag slightly while driving, then they started working again. Why?

those units are connected to the VSS sensor which also reports to the TCM for ratio changes
run the fault codes and see if the VSS is in the codes

1993 saab turbo CSE. limphome mode, possible head gasket leak

Things can only get get worse and that means more expense. Like mine, better to do the head gasket asap while it's not too expensive or at least get the head bolt torque settings checked after the rebuild as they may need tweeking.

Saab 9000 automatic cse boost valve

HI need to no if your car has a turbo gauge if not then the cr is a LPT light presure turbo expain why u have not got a lot of power
if you have got a turbo guage then u can do more too to car to improve it
the valve your looking for is a APC valve that controls the turbo boost
i would recommend a ECU upgrade to avoid engine problems that will cost you more in the long run
