You proberly need to put a code number in if its a factory fitted radio it should be in with all your drivers handbook or radio manual if not you will have to go to a main dealer and ask them if they can get you the code

Honda civic gli radio replacement won't work

Dannielle, if the previous owner installed the radio, it must have worked. It is possible that error code may have no connection with the replaced radio which may work when connected to battery. It depends on the complexity of the new radio. If it is simple, s/b ok.

Battery went dead in my 2008 civic, took the battery out and charged it. I now have error codes on my radio.

it sounds like you have an anti-theft radio and when the battery power is interrupted the radio goes into a lock out mode so anyone that steals it can`t use it,hopefully you have the code that needs to be punched into the radio written in the owners manual,if not then you will have to go to the dealer and tell them what happened and they can get the code and program your radio.write down the code and procedure so if it happens again you can reprogram it yourself.

The radio stays in "safe" mode. The car battery is brand new, and no fuses are blown. What else could cause this?

whenever you disconnect the battery, the radio will need a code fed into it,this is available from your local dealer for a charge in the USA but NOT anywhere else, the first owner may have written a 4 digit code in the service book(fat chance)if you are outside USA specialist dealers can recode your radio(at a cost)but i have found its better to buy a new radio with a aux input for mp3.(matter of choice.)but cos i live in England, labour rates are £85 per hour.cd/ radio costs £45 fitted.please tell all your friends re the radio code, could cost them a lot of inconvenience/money.especially if a "friend"replaces thier radio...........

Mech Comm Error

sounds like they may have forgotten to take out transit plugs from radio which holds cd mechanism in place when shipping unless you got a new radio thats a dud? but that may also mean dealer didnt check operation of new unit after replacement if replaced which is what usually needs to be done when this error message comes up

Replaced battery and now cd modeof radio not working

Is the CD and the Radio in one unit or seperate units? If together, I have no idea but I know what you're saying but if seperate, check the fuse (see PG 345 of you owners manual for fuse location) - Also, does the CD not work entirely or does it accept a CD then display an error on the screen "No Disc" ? If that's the case, it's just a coincident and not the fact that a new battery caused the problem, take it to Chrysler if under warranty or replace the unit with an aftermarket, My CD mode works only when it wants to and has already been OEM replaced once, I've pretty much given up on it but my unit is a GPS with the radio and six CD player combined, not much I can do if I wat to keep the GPS I suppose

Hope this helps

What does "C-error" on my radio screen indicates?

hello I'm an M.B. tech.-unfortunatly after you enter the wrong code (I beleive more than 3 times) it goes into a special security mode. The only way to unlock this feature is to keep power to the unit for 24 hours. If i remember correctly there are 2 different modes. The 1st mode is a 1 hour mode, the 2nd is a 24 hour mode. Your best bet is to take it to a dealer and have them reset it for you. If the unit is still in the first mode you can hook up a battery charger and keep the key on for 1 hour ( you could also do this for 24 hours). These vehiclles have an elctric throttle motor called an E.A. actuater. These units are very problematic and are usually damaged from somebody leaving the key on for an extended period of time. If you are going to attempt to perform this reset procedure yourself I would strongly recomend unplugging the actuaster when leaving the key on. The next problem would be if it lost it's synchroniztion you would need a scan tool to resynch. it. I just wanted you to be aware of this problem so you can be prepared. If you do try to leave the key on for 1 hour you probably would be o.k. it's the 24 hours that I'm concerned with. Make sure you turn the radio on when the key is on and hook up a battery charger. Be absolutly sure you have the right code because alot of people replace these units and don't replace there old code card. Good luck

How do you reset the radio for a 2002 GMC 1500?

You will need to contact your local GM dealer with the VIN # proof of ownership & possibly the radio SIN # they will be able to retrieve the code for you if it is the original radio for your truck.
I know it's kind of late now but, If you need to replace your battery & don't have the code I recomend attaching another battery to the battery cables via booster calbes while you install the new battery.

I hope this helps

Error 7 on 2005 Honda CRV Radio

I had the same issue with the radio code error lock on a 2005 CRV. I was unaware of the code procedure and had locked the radio in the "ERROR E" mode. I was able to unlock the radio by pulling the #9 back up fuse located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. This reset the radio to CODE which then allowed me to input the 5 digit number which I had in my glove box along with my owner's manual. I am happy to report I now have a working radio/ CD player.
