I have a a4 1.8 exec with the same problem, the hazards work fine but the indicators do not flicker. Sometimes they will flicker once or twice but then stay on permanently but mostly they just stay on.

The Hazard and turn signals share the same relay module located in the dashboard behind the hazard switch. Remove the trim by prying from the sides (Either side of the Cup holder drawer and Card drawer). Pry the hazard switch assembly out from the dashboard. The relay is part of the hazard switch assembly.

Unclip the wiring terminal from the relay. replace with appropriate relay. Part costs under $50.00 delivered from Import Parts Specialists.

The hazard relay is located in the dash behind the triangle shaped switch that you are tapping on. The relay is actually 2 relays, one for the turn signal and the other for the hazard. The turn signal relay has dirty contacts.

SOURCE: HAZARD LIGHTS ON BUT NOT

HI,
I have the same problem - it is the relay switch attached to and behind the hazard warning triangle on the dashboard. Pull it all out (gently and replace (£60 ish). The indicators and hazard lights are on the same relay circuit. This is a well known problem for this car (amongst others - how about the wipers sticking)

Hi, If you have a towbar fitted this could be a wiring problem with the towbar socket wiring. If no towbar fitted this would need to be experienced to diagnose further.

SOURCE: Indicators not flashing on Audi TT

Hazard light switch fails a lot on Audis and VWs.  It is located above the radio.  It is the big red button with the triangle on it.  To removed and replace you need to remove the radio.  Note special audi radio tools require to remove radio.  Once the radio is out there is a black cover above where radio was at.  This cover pulls out.  Now you can access the Hazard lite switch.  I would install new switch and test before reassembling.

SOURCE: renault kangoo indicators and hazard lights have

Most common cause is a failed indicator relay. Just swap it with a known good one to confirm whether it's faulty but ensure it's correctly rated for your Kangoo.

After that, the next most common causes are more expensive: the indicator switch and the hazard light switch.

I'm driving a Nissan 1400 bakkie the indicators are working properly but as soon as i turn on the hazard lights it does not want to flash even though it is on... Any advice would be greatly appreciate

Test the Switch first. You may have to replace the Hazard Lights Relay. They are usually separate to the Indicators relay.

Flashing Unit for Indicators Replacement

Most likely it's the hazard switch - the relay for the hazards and the turn signals is built into it. When they start to die, you will see erratic behavior with the turn signals and/or hazards, and eventually they'll both fail completely. Replace your hazard switch on the dash and you'll be good to go.
