HEADLIGHT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
SEALED BEAM HEADLIGHTS REMOVAL 1 When replacing the headlight,do not turn the spring-loaded adjusting screws or the headlight aim will be changed 2. Remove the cover over the headlight this vehicle has five screws securing the cover other models may have four or six screws. 3. Remove the four screws which secure the retaining ring around the headlight support the headlight as this is done. 4. Pull the light away, unplug the connector and remove it from the vehicle. INSTALLATION 5. Position the new unit close enough to connect the wires. Make sure the numbers molded into the lens are at the top. 6. Install the retaining ring and mounting screws. 7. Install the plastic cover to the headlights with the screws you took off and check for proper operation. If the adjusting screws (spring - loaded adjusting screws) were not turned, the headlight should not require adjustment.

To replace headlight bulb of kia pregio van: You only need Phillips screw driver and 10mm socket or open wrench. Open the hood, remove front grill with 4 phillips screw. This will give you room for your hand to pull out the headlight housing later on. Next is remove the signal light housing by unscrewing the phillips screw on top of the headlight housing then pull out the signal light housing and remove the bulb. You will see 2 pcs 10mm bolts on the side which hold the headlight. Loosened and remove the bolts on headlight holder then pull the headlight sideward. Remove power supply socket before removing it completely from the van. Remove bulb socket, spring clip, and busted bulb and replace with new one. Reassemble the disassembled parts in reverse order. That's it, will take you only 10 minutes.

To remove first you want to remove the headlight door mounting screws and remove the headlight door. Then you want to remove the 4 retainer ring screws and remove the retainer ring from the headlight. Then you want to pull the headlight bulb forward and detach the wiring connector.

To install you first want to attach the wiring connector to the headlight bulb and place the bulb in position, locating the bulb glass tabs in the positioning slots. Then you will attach the bulb retainer ring to the assembly with the retainer ring screws. Then you will install the headlight door and secure with the screws. Then you will check the headlight bulb aim and adjust as necessary

1) remove the grille screws
2) tilt the top of grille forward to reveal the 2 screws under the headlight
3)Remove the four screws on the headlight retaining ring one at each corner.
4) pull the head light forward and unplug the headlight.
The top middle screw and outside end middle screw are your adjustments, the chrome piece holds the light in

1. Remove the headlamp bezel and retaining ring attaching screws. Remove the bezel and retaining ring.
2. Pull the headlight out, disconnect the wire harness and remove the headlight from the vehicle.
3. Install the headlight in the reverse order of removal.

Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer Models

1. Open the hood, reach into the engine compartment and locate the lock ring supporting the bulb assembly.
2. Rotate the lock ring 1?8 turn counterclockwise and pull the bulb straight out from the housing. To install:
   
3. Install a new bulb and position the bulb assembly in the lamp housing.
4. Rotate the lock ring 1?8 turn clockwise to secure.

The Grand Cherokee will have an assembly that is fastened with bolts and screws to the body.
Get the new assembly and compare to the old one to see where to unfasten the bolts and other fasteners to aid in removing quickly.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1984–88 Vehicles

1. Open the hood, then turn the headlights on.
2. Detach the headlight motor wire on the outer side of the headlight.
3. Turn the headlights off (the disconnected light should stay open).
4. Unfasten the 4 screws at the bezel. There are 2 at the front and 2 at the sides. Fig. 1: With the hood in the raised position, unfasten the Torx® screws from the outer side of the headlight bezel/trim piece

5. Remove the bezel. Fig. 3: Remove the first of the top bezel/retaining ring screws . . .
   Fig. 4: . . . then remove the remaining Torx® screw
   Fig. 5: Lift the bezel/trim piece away from the headlight assembly
   
   
6. Remove the retaining spring by carefully using a hooked end tool, such as a cotter pin removal tool to move it to the side.
7. Remove the headlight from the aiming pins by rotating the headlight toward the center of the car.
8. Unfasten the 4 retaining ring screws, then remove the ring. Fig. 6: With the hood closed, you can see the 4 headlight retaining ring screws (1) and 2 aiming screws (2)

9. Remove the headlight pump from the mounting bracket, unplugging the socket as you pull it away. Fig. 8: Remove the headlight away from the mounting bracket, unplugging the socket as you pull it away
   To install:
   
10. Install the headlight bulb, making sure it is plugged in properly.
11. Position the retaining ring and secure with the 4 screws.
12. Position the headlight into the aiming pins. Move the retaining spring back into place.
13. Install the bezel and secure with the retainers.
14. Turn the headlights on, then connect the headlight motor wire.
15. Turn the headlights off. Both should lower.
16. Close the hood. Check the aim of the headlights, and adjust if necessary.

1989–96 Vehicles

1. Open the hood.
2. Open the headlight door halfway. This can be done either by turning the headlight switch on, then back to the parking lamp on position, or by the manual headlamp control knob (which is located on the inboard side of the headlight door). NOTE: Before removing the screws from the side of the headlight bezel, place your hand under the bezel to support and prevent damage to it.
   
3. Remove the screws from the front of the headlight bezel. NOTE: Before removing the screws from the side of the headlight bezel, place your hand under the bezel to support and prevent damage to it.
   
4. Remove the Phillips head screws from each side of the headlight bezel.
5. Remove the bezel by pulling it straight out from the engine side of the hood. Fig. 9: View of the headlight bezel mounting
   
   
6. Unfasten the screws from the headlight retaining ring.
7. Remove the headlamp from the assembly, unplugging the electrical connector as you are pulling it away. Fig. 10: Exploded view of the headlight assembly

   To install:
   
8. Attach the headlight electrical connector.
9. Position the retaining ring and install the screws securing the ring to the headlight.
10. Position the bezel in place on the headlight assembly.
11. Install the screws on each side of the bezel and tighten to 51 inch lbs. (5.8 Nm).
12. Install the screws on the front of the bezel and tighten to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
13. Cycle the headlamps, then close the hood. Check the headlight aim, and adjust if necessary.

pop the hood, there will be 2 screws at the top of the headlight.
Remove the 2 screws.
Pull the headlight out of the socket, not too far, wiring doesnt let you pull it too far out.
You can access the bulbs from there, or remove them and replace the headlight itself and pop the old bulbs (or new ones) back in.
Replace headlight to socket, make sure the coupling on the side is connected.
Replace the 2 screws.

remove 2 10mm bolts attaching top of headlight to the radiator support.

remove plastic clip attachinig headlight to top/front of fender.

remove 5 phillips screws on top of grill.

carefully pull out grill enough to remove 1 10mm bolt attaching headlight to radiator support and use slotted screwdriver or prybar to seperate headlight tab from the bracket that goes under the bumper cover.

with a little effort and wiggling pull out headlight assembly.

ok, In this New of a vehicle there are no screws holding the headlight in if you just need to replace a headlight because it is burned out. Look at the back of the light where the wires attach and you should see the wires going into what appears to be a coupling. Get a hold of that and turn. After it unlocks you can remove and replace the bulb. If you are replacing the Headlight assembly because it was damaged there are typically 2 long scews on the top front that appear to be adjsutment screws and 2 smaller ones in each side, again on top.
