If you are talking about 3.4L engine there are only two manifold gaskets. But there are Four Intake gaskets two for the upper intake and two for the lower intake.

This is a vacuum leak causing the oxygen sensors to throw codes or its both sensors or you have an exhaust leak before the sensorsyou say you changed the intake manifold gasket did you change upper plenum and the lower intake or just the top? Ok let's try this take fuel injection cleaner and spray around the intake upper and lower while in drive foot on the brake if the idle changes the leak is there do the same for all vacuum lines
Replace the valve cover gasket if the valve cover gaskets are
leaking or if they're worn. The procedure is as follows:-- 1)First of all let the motor cool down if the car was recently driven. Then remove the air
intake boot.The air intake boot ios attached to the engine's throttle body. 2)Carefully disconnect the throttle
cable , hoses and electrical connectors located on the upper intake manifold. 3)Then disconnect the hard pipe that is
connected to the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve. 4)The EGR valve is located beneath the upper intake manifold. 5)Then remove the bolts from both the upper intake manifold and the manifold
support bracket. 6)Now the upper intake main fold and
lower intake manifold both have got loose as you removed the nut. 7)After that remove the upper intake
manifold from the lower intake manifold. Carefully place clean rags over the
intake runners to prevent anything from falling into the intake system. 8)Then you will have to disconnect the
crank case breather valve on the valve cover. 9)Then remove the bolts from the valve
cover and remove the reinforcing straps. 10)Then remove the camshaft belt cover
and the dust shield from the back of the camshaft sprocket. 11)Now carefully remove the valve cover.
Properly clean the old gasket material with gasket remover. 12)You can install a new gasket in the reverse procedure of removal.

Putting the lower intake on my 1997 Ford Explorer 4.0 OHV sport .... I do have a 2000 5.0 ... @michaelheiland123654 To dothis job, you have to remove the alternator, unbolt the AC compressor, remove upper intake manifold, remove fuel rail,remove all injectors, ... Do you have the SOHC or OHV version?

This is going to be a pain, due to the age and rust. I assume when you say upper exhaust gasket. You are referring to the manifold to head gasket. If so you need to soak the stud/nuts with PB Blaster lube then back out the nuts, to remove the manifold. For the lower gaskets I assume you are referring to the donut gaskets where the pipes meet, I am pretty sure this model does not use donut gaskets.
If the manifold was replaced, install or connect the following:
Vacuum source manifold.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve.
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
Throttle body assembly.
Upper-to-lower intake manifold carrier gasket to the upper intake manifold.
Carefully place the upper intake manifold onto the lower intake manifold. Ensure that the alignment pins in the upper intake manifold align with the holes in the lower intake manifold.
NOTE: Apply thread lock compound, to the bolt threads before assembly.
Install or connect the following:
Upper intake manifold. Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts in sequence to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
Accelerator and the cruise control cables with the bracket to the throttle body.
EVAP purge solenoid vacuum line to the throttle body.
Connect the electrical connectors to the following:
Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor
Idle Air Control (IAC) valve
Throttle Position (T/P) sensor
EVAP purge solenoid
Install or connect the following:
Throttle body upper support bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
EGR valve wiring harness heat shield, nut and the bolt. Tighten the nut and the bolt to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
There are several areas to check for possible exhaust leaks. i will list them below.
1. Exhaust manifold gaskets - This will be the most common area. There is a gasket that separates the block from the exhaust manifold. these gaskets can fail, thus, causing a exhaust leak at the manifold.
2. Lower manifold gasket(donut gasket) - This will be a possible leak spot as well. This small circular gasket is placed in between the upper exhaust pie and the lower side of the manifold. It basically separates the pipe from the exhaust manifold.
3. Exhaust pipe - The entire pipe can rust overtime, thus, creating small holes along the pipe structure. These holes will cause the exhaust to leak ,thus, filling the vehicle will moderate fumes and causing louder than normal engine sounds during revving.
4. Muffler - This component can also deteriorate to the point that it cannot filter out the noise. It will also cause leaks as well.
You will find the leak in one or all of the areas stated above in the list.
Head gasket, if you have a V6 or a V8, can't tell which one is at fault, so both will might as well be changed.
If the leak near the maifold is oil, the valve cover gaskets are leaking.
When head gaskets are changed, all the necessary gaskets come in the gasket kit.
NOTE
The 3.8L (VIN K) non-supercharged engine uses a two-piece intake
manifold consisting of an upper air plenum which mounts the throttle
body and a lower intake manifold assembly which houses the fuel
injectors. The 3.8L (VIN 1) supercharged engine uses a similar lower
intake manifold. The supercharger serves as the upper manifold. Lower Manifold
NOTE
Two bolts which fasten the lower intake manifold to the cylinder
head are accessible only after the upper intake manifold is removed.
These bolts are located in the right front and left rear corners of the
lower intake manifold. Remove the upper intake manifold to service the
lower intake. The 3.8L (VIN 1) supercharged engine uses a manifold
similar to the 3.8L (VIN K), but the supercharger serves as the upper
manifold.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
On 3.8L (VIN 1) engines, remove the supercharger assembly. Please see the procedure in this section.
Remove the upper intake manifold using the procedure above.
Remove the EGR outlet pipe from the intake manifold.
Detach the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness from the sensor.
Remove the lower intake manifold bolts and carefully lift off the manifold.
Clean all parts well with degreaser, especially the gasket seal
surfaces on the upper and lower manifold pieces and between the lower
manifold and the cylinder heads..
Install new gaskets to the cylinder heads and new seals to the
engine block. Carefully lower the manifold into place. Apply
thread-locking compound to the bolt threads. Make sure to install the
two hidden bolts in the lower intake manifold. Hand start all bolts,
then torque evenly to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Follow the toque sequence,
starting in the center, then working outwards in a circle.
Install the remaining components in the reverse order of the removal process.
Upper Intake Manifold (Plenum)
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
On 3.8L (VIN 1) engines, remove the supercharger assembly. Please see the procedure in this section.
Tag for identification, then remove the right side spark plug wires.
Disconnect the ignition wires from the fuel rail.
Remove the fuel rail. Please see Section 5.
Remove the cable bracket from the intake manifold.
Remove the throttle body.
NOTE
Two bolts which fasten the lower intake manifold to the cylinder
head are accessible are accessible only after the upper intake manifold
is removed. These bolts are located in the right front and left rear
corners of the lower intake manifold.
Remove the upper intake manifold bolts and carefully lift the upper intake manifold from the engine.
