Which way do you turn to remove an oil filter from 1990 Isuzu pickup

If there is no oil to the filter do not run the engine, look for oil pump failure , blocked pickup oil tube filter, stuck or broker relief valve.

If this is a petrol engine have a look at the brake booster leaking vacuum and running the engine too lean to idle. Test by allowing to idle with out your foot on the brake If applying brake pressure shuts the engine down ,replace the brake booster..

PUT NEW VAVLE STEM SEALS IN.

Probably a faulty oil pressure relief valve.

If not done already, you should have an independent oil pressure gauge hooked up to the lube system by a mechanic to check that the high oil pressure reading you are getting is correct. Before doing this change the engine oil and the oil filter and ensure you use the correct oil and only fit a quality and correct spec oil filter.

Oil pressure switch is on the opposite side of engine to oil filter so the oil has to have pressure through the crank to go off.
To trace:
1. Remove sump/oil pan and remove oil pump.
2. Check oil pump turning it by hand.
3. Is the oil outlet pipe going to filter connected? There is s rubber O ring at the top too. Check.
4. Remove oil filter and check gallery pump to filter using compressed air.
5 If ok check oil filter to engine gallery as above. You might have to loosen the main bearings so that the oil gallery is not restricted by the bearings.
6. Remove oil pressure switch and blow jouna from tha end as well.
7. All that done and with oil OK down there chech if you are getting oil on the rockers after starting engine. If OK then you are done. If not check head gasket installation.

If it is on the engine you will need to remove the right front wheel then you can get to it.

The filter is located on the frame rail by the passenger side rear wheel.

the motor will deffinatly have to be pulled. There is not enough room underneath to remove the oil pan.

It is on the underside of the intake manifold near the front directly below where the water hose and thermostat connect on the top

from memory it is in inlet manifold some were in front middle section bottom, (underneath) 4ZE1?
