If your car has Manual Climate Control (that is without ECC - Electronic Climate Control), then the problem is most likely the resistor. Costs about $85 on line.
Models with ECC do not have a blower motor resistor. On those vehicles, this function is handled by the A/C Power Module. There are four different power modules, depending on your build date (chassis number). Any of them will run you about $125 on line.

to get the radio code to unlock the radio you can go to the dealer which is very expensive -- OR you can go to
http://www.radio-code.com/ and type in all the information that is required and you can get the code for $7.99.

First, measure the voltage between the two battery posts with the engine
not running. It should be near 12.6 volts. If it is around 10.5 to 11.0
volts, suspect a shorted cell in the battery. If it is around 11.5 to
12.0 volts, charge the battery at a slow rate for about half an hour.
Next, measure the battery voltage again while the engine is running. It
must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts. If it is still around 12.0 volts,
the alternator is not working. if it still has a problem check the
wires from the alternator to the battery for green corrosion and loss
connections and make sure battery terminals are clean and tight.

My 96 850 volvo has no heat. The blower works and
check that the cables have not become disconnected from the control flap in the heater box or that an operating arm on the flap has not broken off. Cable outer casings could also slip out of their clamps.

Hi, this is usually caused by a worn out CV joint on one or both axles. Check to see if the boots are torn open. There are 2 boots on each axle. If they are torn, the joint is likely to be worn out or will soon wear out. Replace any axle with a torn boot. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
