Restating 2000 odyssey after warmed up
not sure what that means.
lets start over.
your saying car runs great, cold then hot.
then hard to restart a hot engine, right?
the light thing i dont understand
first off, when you stall and engine or just key ON.
the lamps all self test (read the operators guide there)
this is only a lamp test.
odd, the most important is skipped the CEL, check engine light.
is the engine stalling?
hot restarts, fails are: many.
- injector leaking at shut down.
- ECT reads to cold when hot. can be below caused
- Engine thermostat stuck open and restarts are over rich and floods. that hot engine must be at 180F or more,
- never did a 60,000 mile tuneup this decade?
- Fuel pressure too high.
i do tune ups first.
then check coolant temperatures, hot. 180F min, and holding or i kick the thermostat to the curb (new stat time)
if it sill dont want to hot start
out comes the scan tool
i scan it, got DTC errors.
is ECT reading 180F ? or above?
that is start on diagnosis.
Blowing fuses
its shorted, that line feed.
it saved you from the FIRE. that would happen, so dont up the fuse side. or boom.
google how to find electrical shorts in cars.
we use a meter.
got one?
If i change the gear to drive get noose
comma's give us some, please. let me try.
when i change the gear shift (manual tranny?),
when driving.
something, what? gets loose.
or just start at getting in the door, every step you do and what happens.
are you parked, or driving? what gear?
what happens.
Rear heat is not working
Coolant is the carrier heat to the heater core.
Check your service record for your last coolant and thermostat change. Recommended service interval is every 2 years.
RPM's rev high and low
"Could this be a throttle positioning sensor problem?" - probably not. The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) tells the computer how hard you are stepping on the gas. It does not really control idle speed.
Your problem is more likely the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. This is a small electric valve that the computer can open and close in small steps to set the idle RPM at the desired point (a little higher when cold, then down to normal speed when warm). The IAC valve is notorious for getting all crudded up inside. Then it sticks open too much (really fast idle speed) or sticks shut (really low speed).
You can try taking it off the engine, cleaning it with carb cleaner spray, and putting it back on. That is easy and cheap.
If cleaning does not fix it, you need to buy a replacement valve and put it on. Pretty easy to do but costs more $$$.
Engine diagram
engine diagram. of what? the FSM is full of them.
something fell off?
what, is it. post a photo, or link use to a posted site or cloud or photo bucket , photo.
does engine starter crank? fast and normal
are all fluids at proper levels, engine, and coolant?
did you check your antifreeze percentage with a gauge every fall?
the tools is $2 and takes 1minute every fall to do..... 50% ratio is good.
is childs play easy.. ask.
1: check all fuses in both fuse boxes.
2: check fluild levels. (engine oil, and coolant)
3: make sure antifreeze coolant is not pooling (puddle) below car???
4: now does engine crank? , fast, yes.
5: does it start , no.
6: does engine have spark at all cylinders. (a test)
ask for step 7 to 50,,, we have it. each test.
