2005 Dodge Ram 1500 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

With the correct tools, not too bad at all. In a driveway laying on the ground with jack stands, it can be a bit of a challenge, but doable.

The shaking can be the brakes, rotors, tires, poss alignment or wheel balance. It may also be connected to that CV boot that is torn and leaking which affected the axle. It has to be lifted & checked out. Good luck

That wire needs to be hooked to the factory radio , part of the PCI bus - serial data communication network . I know on GM vehicles if the radio isn't hooked to the bus the vehicle will not start an run . Don't know if Dodge vehicles are that complex . http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/31-car-audio-video/58412-why-pci-bus-connection-radio.html http://www.carsondemand.com/IDLdocuments/Learning%20Guide/4450-t9r0k5io6vxazm80x5ire9zj4.pdf

You mite call a aftermarket installer an ask or the dodge dealer

If it does (not all vehicles do) it will be located just outside the tank or within a few feet of the tank. I would suggest calling a dealer as there is conflicting info on this particular model.

The only fuel filter on the truck is located on the driver side, under-neath the door on the frame rail.

Hello Paul Gibson,

Assuming nothing untoward has been done to the vehicle (mechanical, modification or collision))... Your TCM should have produced a CODE (OBD reader required).

otherwise

That means you have to go out on that branch circuit and find the element that is (over) pulling all the AMPACITY...

If it takes a while... or a particular operation is being performed that would be really helpful to your diagnostic effort.

A CLAMP-ON type Amp meter could also be used...

If the relay/fuse "blows" (operates) immediately...

Then you are looking at disconnecting each element... If you have their typical resistances... you can verify against those KNOWN values by measuring ... ELSE you are left with

disconnect there are solenoids inside the transmission... I believe the measure substantially the same...If you do not have your factory+workshop+manual (I highly recommend, they're great)...
go on-line to bbbind.com

Read over the technical bulletins... and find your drawing there.

Good luck
