your transmission lock -up - converter valve is loosing pressure and it may be causing this problem that you have. it is in the transmission pan area on the valve body. they sell a replacement valve for this
Car wont start, turns over fine but theres no feed of gas to carb
take your distributor cap off and check the ignition module for loose wires or even a ground strap thats connected to the engine to the body , you can take the module to autozone and have it checked for free, it might have a crank position sensor thats going wacky

The light staying on while driving is due to one of the door jamb switches is malfunctioned and more than likely going to be the driver door. For the reason being is that's the door that's mostly used than any other on the vehicle. If memory serves me correctly, the switch is located on the inside the door at the lock actuator.
