No display for outside temp. after replacing batteries.

If the unit was workingg prior to the battery replacement, you must remove the battery and check on the terminals to the battery. Make that these are clean, the battery is good - test using a multimeter- and replace with the correct postion.Now if the earlier battery had leaked it could have damaged the internal board and if so you need to open to check if the board is clogged with the battery leak. If so try and clean the board.

Installed new batteries, but need instruction to reset temperature readings

Type "Taylor 1524 manual pdf" in google. That should pull up your manual. Sometimes companies produce the same item, with just subtle changes (product differentiation) i.e. Chevy used the same motor block for the 327,350,400 chevy motors, and just installed different cylinder heads.
