My Samson Airline AG1 transmitter will turn on for one second, red light and all, and then turn right off. If I move the battery back and forth, red light goes on then off as well. What's up?

You are aware that the indication LED is supposed to work that way correct? If you do not know, the circuit is supposed to make the LED blink once when the unit is turned on. The speed at which the LED returns to the OFF state tells you approximately how much life is left in the battery. Ultimately when the battery is drained too much for normal operation, the LED will stay lit until the battery is nearly dead. That only explains the correct operation of the LED which sounds like what you are describing. So the only way you can know for sure if the transmitter is working is with a matching receiver that you know works. Unfortunately if there is no indication at all at the receiver, its difficult to tell whether the transmitter or receiver is at fault.

My Samson Auro D415 peak light stays on, and i get no sound when powered on

Ok. First, check your power supply voltages....then check IC2 for correct voltages and also check C9 ,C17 for ESR...clip signal can come from either woofer or horn circuits...lift one end of R19 in the preamp ckt....this will break the woofer signal and see if the light goes out...if it does, look for issues with the pre-amp after it seperates the hi and low signals...if not, then look for problens in the horn circutry.....and get a schematic....it will make it so much easier....good luck....

I have a Samson XP501i and I want to also hook up a monitor to it. I have a Samson POWERED monitor - 800 watts. Will that work? Or will it blow up my PA?

You can safely connect your powered monitor speaker to either the monitor output jacks or the tape output RCA jacks on your XP510. In addition, you may download the owner's manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/download/515708/Samson-Expedition-Xp510.html

My Samson Airline UHF wireless kit is not working.

Make sure you are using ALKALINE batteries... rechargeables have lower voltage that does not work with a lot of these devices... Often the batteries are marked with the voltage they are intended to replace rather than their actual voltage. NiCad batteries only produce 1.25 volts and that is under what is required. The device will come on and immediately go off.

Have a problem with the

"Tested with other speaker and cable" ... you did not tell us the results of the test. If swapping the speakers and cablles still had the same dead side, it is probably the power amp for that side and not the mixer part. Take in for repair. If you had an accident of speaker cable not being plugged in fully or pulled out while operating, this pops the power amp real quick. They also just plain fail at times. Plug a set of headphones into the MONO out jack. If you can hear audio going through the unit then the mixer is OK... and the power amp on the failing side has a failure. Note the headphones will be low level and probably only one side, usually the left as this is a mono signal and headphones are normally stereo.

How do I adjust the mixer to remove humming noise?

I used to be a hi-fi enthusiast many years ago. A low frequency hum can be caused by inadvertently creating a "hum loop". This is when audio separates are earthed or grounded where they are plugged into the power outlets and then connected together using screened audio leads where the screening is connected to both plugs. The situation can become worse when one of the separates is a type that isn't grounded. Ineffective or insufficient power supply smoothing and/or shielding leaving an AC ripple on the DC also creates a hum or in the case of poor design or bad shielding can radiate AC magnetism into the high gain input stages of amplification. Whatever the cause of the hum it can be aggravated by poor matching of separates with regard to input/output sensitivities and impedances. If the pre-amp stage gains have to be high to compensate for a low input signal the signal-to-noise ratio will always be poor through every stage. Small signals requiring large amounts of amplification requires low impedance circuitry and appropriate sensitivity. Food for thought...
