I don't want this to sound silly however, have you checked to see if the lens is clear? One fingerprint can really foul the picture.

Unfortunately, if the batteries have corroded then the chances are extremely high that the contacts (and possibly more of the camera's internal electronics) have also been affected by corrosion. It may be possible to clean the contacts yourself, but if there is corrosion internally then the camera is probably not economically repairable.

check the small hole of the microphone at the camera body if it is filled with dirt, clean it with a toothpick like things, do not insert much in. and don't use needle. still problem open, change microphone.

Hi Susan, You probably turned the card upside down. It can only fit in one direction so check.

The card will only fit in one way. The end with the gold-coloured contacts goes into the slot on the camera. if it will not fit in easily, then turn it round, so the label faces the other way, and try again. If you still can't get it in, make sure there is no obstruction within the card slot on the camera.

Maybe it's not a card error but your camera is failing? You might buy a 1 Gb SD card and test how it works with a new card
