Magic Chef Washing Machines - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues

I put this answer in the comments but re-posting here because I didn't know what I was doing : ) The Magic Chef 2.1 cu ft Portable washer manual says that its a door malfunction and the solution is to open and close the door. That did not work for me so if you're having the same issue that I am it may be that your washer is not level. I had placed mine on top of a few folded throw rugs to stifle noise (I live in an apt, on the second floor) and the rugs were uneven. As soon as i adjusted them, the washer began to work again. E4 indicates the washer failed to drain out after 4 minutes, after that time the code is set. Check and clean the drain filter first.

Unplug your machine again. Remove items from washer ringing out items as you do so. I am thinking that your machine has jammed up at the bottom of agitator, and nothing can move because of this. Now if you don't have an agitator then you may have a reset button somewhere on machine. Good Luck Friend.

Your motor is overheating and the sensor is switching it off you need to take it for a sevice

Washer will not drain: Thedrain water pumpis the main part in your washing machine that pumps out the water. Another test u can do to check the water inlet valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed. To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed. If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. According to the diagram there is a filter near the top of the drum on the inside left.

It probably leaked during washer very little by the time it comes to rinse you'll see more water

check for a clogged water level pressure switch tube- detach it from the pressure switch in the control panel, then blow through it into the tub to be sure air can move freely up the tube... if it is clear, gently push air into the pressure switch by mouth and listen for the audible 'click' of the switch satisfying. If these are both good, you may have a broken return spring inside your water valve body- let the machine fill for 15 seconds, then abort the cycle to see if the valve can shut-off. If it cannot, turn off the water supply and replace the valve by machine model#.

These require a special spline tool and spring compression tool to remove the tubs... not a do-it- yourself job.
