My jensen vm9214 wont play

This is one video lock condition that you need to bypassed. In THIS LINK can find the solution: Jensen-Video-Bypass-Lockout-VM9214-VM9414-VM9324

I heard this same problem, if it plays when its parked then it has a little safety feature that involves a wire, maybe pink in color for your headunit that will only allow it to play when parked. Now if you splice it into the red or yellow, I'd choose red since its not constant, it will play movies anytime.

If it won't play them even when parked then it is not hooked up to a wire or its hooked up to ground and therefor should be hooked to a positive wire, red or yellow. If you didn't put it in yourself then you can take it to an audio shop, maybe check in phonebook for someone local.

But the easy way would be to use a bypass code since there is ojne for your hu. I copy these instructions from ecoustics.com The parking brake bypass procedure is as follows:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6: Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

I don't know if it really works but you could try it, if not use the wiring method above: ecoustics.com/bbs/4/278797.

Hope helps.

I have a jensen vm 9311 but I dont have the remote

What u need to do is install a on/off switch that runs from the (black negative wire) to the (pink park break wire). This will allow to reset that annoying blue screen. Turn the switch on wait 5 seconds & turn the switch off repeat this step 3 to 5 times & that will do the trick. It really works I did it to mine LOL!!!!!!!! [email protected]

My deck is not reading

Most likely this means the dvd laser is bad internally. dvd needs a much finer laser to read the disc as it contains more data. If the unit is under warranty have it repaired as such otherwise most likely it won't be worth the cost of repair and you should use it or replace it.
Thank you,
Lee
